Dianne-TX
DC are 10 and 8. I haven't been rigorous with LA instruction, per say. We use Ambleside Online, copywork, Simply Grammar, and dictation and I agree with that approach for the most part. I'm also more relaxed than most, too. But, I also like to be sure I'm covering all bases. :) So, I would like to add a LA resource for the kiddos to do on their own or with little instruction that will give them structure and understanding. I've looked at the following resources: All About Spelling, Evan Moor Daily 6 Trait Writing, ABEKA LA books. What do you think? What else would be good? Thanks! Aurelia
All About Spelling isn't independent, or even mostly so. You could look at Growing with Grammar and Winning with Writing (both by the same company). I recently started using WWW with Ariel and it's mostly independent and is covering information we had never talked about before, but then again, I was rather excessively relaxed about writing, so YMMV. Language Smarts by The Critical Thinking Company might work, too.
