Debbie in IL
Good morning! Dd will be entering her jr. year in a few months and I know that we need to work on her writing skills. Specifically, I am looking for suggestions concerning the organizational side of writing - writing a strong thesis statement, supporting those statements, etc. Fortunately, she loves to write - even essays! - but I know we need to master these "framework" skills this year so as to prepare her for college. We have done MFW for the past few years, and will be doing the US Hist/Gov't program this year. There is a writing component to this course, but I almost feel like we need more of a step by step method this year. Any thoughts? Please feel free to ask me more specific questions if that would help. Thanks so much - I love that I can come on here and post a plea for help. :)
Pegasus
I recommend Jensen's Format Writing. It is simple, step-by-step, inexpensive, and is all about providing the student with the "framework" for writing various types of papers/essays/reports. jdarling
Try Jensens Writing. Or language lessons for the highschool student.
