How do I get the creases out of a plastic table cloth cover?

Recommended Posts

For my daughter's graduation party next weekend we had an idea for the cake table. We have a plastic white lacey table cloth (sounds tacky...but it's actually pretty). I will get a solid color to go underneath it. Then around the cake I want to put various photos, artwork, school work when she was little. These will be covered with a clear plastic table cloth cover (over the photos/artwork and under the cake, of course :001_smile: ). So, I opened this clear plastic table cloth cover and it was folded so many times to make it small, that now where the folds are it makes like 160 squares. Do you think the folds/creases will come out (at least mostly) if I put a towel on it and try to iron over the towel?? I would really like this clear cover to have no folds in it.....how can I do this? Anyone ever successfully gotten the creases out of a clear plastic table cloth cover??

I don't have any experience with this. Sorry!

With that said, I'd try a few different things.

1. Try and hang it up to let the wrinkles "fall" out

2. like you suggested, a cloth with a warm iron to lightly press out creases

3. as a last resort, you could try tumbling it in your dryer on the lowest heat seating for just a few minutes.

Hope this helps a bit!
