Twilight Woods
I must admit I am not sure how her school goes about teaching it. She just brings home a list each Monday with the breakdown and she writes her words 5-10x depending on how well she knows them. She almost always brings homes A' s on her test. I have no idea what spelling program to choose for her.
almondbutterandjelly
Sounds like she might be a naturally good speller. For them, you can use just about any program that catches your fancy. And don't be mastered by the curriculum. If it works for her to just write the words a few times and she knows them, then don't make her do the busy work in the spelling book. If the workbook pages help, then have her do them. For my dd, I just write all the words down on index cards, and we flashcard them every day (She looks at each word, says it, spells it, says it -- while looking at the card, for two or three days, then on the day before the test, I quiz her outloud on all the words. Written test on Friday. No other busy work. That's what works for us.
