tarahillmom
My son is currently racing through NEM 1 (4 chapters in 6 weeks). I am looking to add maybe Art of Problem Solving Number Theory to try and supplement for my little math lover. Is it wise to try to do these at the same time? Thanks!!! Julie of KY
My sixth grader has finished NEM 1 and started NEM 2 as well as working on both AoPS Algebra and Counting and Probability books. Sure you can do both. The Number Theory book looks fun and my math lover is looking forward to working through it this summer "for fun". naturalmom
We're using both of these, but we're not very far in either. There is overlap between Number Theory and NEM. You'll find a lot of similar topics: integers, primes, prime factorization, etc. If you wanted something really different, you could look into Counting and Probability. We're doing that, too, but we've only done the first couple lessons in it. It's nice because there are also videos on AoPS that correlate to the book.
