Katiebug_1976
I have a question about STOW & American history. Someone told me that STOW doesn't go very deep into American history. Is this true? If so, what have ya'll done for American history? Did you take a break from STOW or just add things to it?
Mom2toBoyz
It's not as in depth as say Abeka's History/Geography. I have my kids mainly read Abeka's during the early years while we do SOTW. They are short, have pictures they seem to like, which adds to the fact that SOTW is all black/white. My kids and I like color. So, this fills in. I have all of Abeka books for History/Geog, so I use the quizzes/test as comprehension questions after they read a section, just to make sure they are retaining the info. Abeka is easily found used and generally cheap. Get the older edition, as the questions for the chapter reviews are not in the newer ed.
