MommyThrice
I am just THINKING about MAYBE doing this next year for a group of high schoolers. ;) If you have tried this, do you have any tips / ideas / advice? Do you give grades? Writing feedback? Discussion only? How do you handle lazy students? I will probably not stick to the book (Omnibus III) completely; it seems a bit overkill, but I like the literature in general. I would like to require writing, but I'm not sure I want to - or am even capable of - grading the papers. I really like the idea of socratic discussions and holding each other accountable. I would like to think that this would help my own children rise to the occasion. We have some local one-day classes that have had the opposite effect. Thanks, Tracie
Debbie in IL
Tracie, I'm not involved with an Omni discussion group - but I wanted you to know that I think it sounds like a great idea! Please post again if you decide to do this - I'd love to hear about it. :)
