Amira
I haven't found a good way to search for apps either. I generally search online for titles, then go the app store. After hearing so many rave reviews for all things Apple, I've been surprised at how frustrating iTunes can be, and I'm certainly not computer illiterate. Murmer
I have an app called appshopper. It shows all new, updated, price changed apps in the itunes store. But it also lets you set it to show specific things like price, type, and category with one category being education. So I could potentially set it for what's new, free, education and get all the apps that fit those categories. It might help.
