staceyneil
Does anyone know of a good textbook or lesson guide for teaching songwriting? Thanks! Stacey
Nan in Mass
No, but you could look on the homespun site. I think I remember them having some.
staceyneil
Thanks, Nan.... would you have a link to the site you mentioned? I googled it but didn't seem to find anything.... thanks! Stacey
Nan in Mass
homespuntapes.com Took me awhile to find it. We used to get the paper catalogue. I don't know if there still are songwriting things there, but you can look. The other place to look is the Lark in the Morning catalogue or Musician's Friend. sharonTennessee
Writer's Digest puts out several songwriting books. They're written for aspiring writers, but would easily work for students. Sharon

Deidre in GA
Thanks!! All good ideas... this one from Berklee School of Music Press looks great: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Berklee-Press-The-Songwriters-Workshop-Melody-BookCD?sku=941846 Berklee also publishes books by their instructor Pat Pattison which are some of the best books i've seen on songwriting. Amazon also carries these, btw.
