amyrjoy
So, I'm looking for ideas of how to spend the upcoming holidays. I am still not certain when we are breaking. So, is there anything specific project wise you have planned? Do you have any good sites to look at for ideas? :)
ChristusG
We never take long breaks, just because there are days during the school year where we just do not get around to doing any school work. So we make up for it when "regular schools" take their week and two week breaks. Last year we did "Christmas School" the week before Christmas. We learned about Christmas related things (reindeer, St Nick, snow, etc). We did Christmas crafts, made reindeer "food", baked some things, did some Christmas math (just christmas themed addition problems), etc.
lisabelle
Dh's company always shuts down the week between Christmas and New Year's so we definitely will be on break during that time. We won't do much--maybe a day of skiing, a day in Seattle. In a perfect world we will start work on refinishing a glass-doored bookcase we bought over the summer, but we'll have to wait and see how cold it is in the garage! Speaking of which, if anyone knowledgeable is reading this thread, the glass doors are STUCK. They barely slide back and forth and there is no question of being able to get them off the track and off the bookcase. Would I call a regular glass guy for help with this? Or is there some other kind of specialist I would use?
