Osmosis Mom
I bought an inexpensive set of Calculus by Larson and Hostetler and would like to know if people have liked this book. Did you use it alone or with the CH dvds? Also, is there still a way to get those DVDs at a cheaper price? TIA!

MomsintheGarden
We have this Larson book: Calculus of a Single Variable, 7th Edition, ISBN 0-618-15916-3 It is an older edition (current is 9th, I believe), but it worked fine with the CD DVDs & SMs for our two oldest to self-study for the Calculus AP exams. They liked the course. The Calculus DVDs available from CD only cover the first half of the book, through what is considered Calc I (derivatives). To cover the whole book, we bought this cheaply: 2 Volume 12 DVD set that is designed to work with the following Larson books: Calculus, 9th edition Calculus of a Single Variable, 9th edition Multivariable Calculus, 9th edition (MV is not covered in the other two books, and is considered Calc III) ISBNs for the DVD set are: 978-0-547-21304-0 OR 0-547-21304-2 Since this DVD set covers material from three different books, it comes with a very handy booklet listing which lesson corresponds to which section of the texts. Even though we have an older edition of the text it coordinated very well (a few quibbles here and there). HTH, GardenMom
