SkateLeft
This is probably not what you're looking for, but it works well for my daughter, so I thought I'd throw it out there. We're a family of gamers. I'm not sure if you're familiar with massively multiplayer online games. (Maybe you've heard of World of Warcraft?) There are a number of online games that have servers in different countries. My daughter plays Runes of Magic on a German server. She gets the opportunity to read and type German, and it's been great practice for her. If your child is into online gaming, and you're comfortable with them playing, it's something to think about!
