Janice H
Old plan: use online graphing programs during high school, use scientific calc for SAT/ACT, and later buy the calculator suggested by the college dd will attend. New Plan: One university wants SAT Math subject test, so it seems that graphing calculator is assumed? But probably not to the degree that AP Calculus does? The TI-Nspire CAS is approved; any thoughts on this one over other models? Test prep: Beyond Sparknotes and College Board published books, is Barron's the best test prep? I researched past threads; generally Princeton is strategy-oriented and Barron's harder than the actual test. One poster thought Barron's so much harder, it didn't prepare the student well. All opinions welcome.
Teachin'Mine
Here's a link for Texas Instruments comparing their different calculators. The TI-nSpire is a bit more versatile than the CAS version IMO. http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/nonProductSingle/graphing_course_comparision.html
