Does your homeschool group give scholarships to activities?

Recommended Posts

Our group recently became a 501c3 and we are doing a lot of reorganizing as a result. We've also increased our focus on activities like FIRST Lego League, Science Olympiad, etc---competitive teams that sometimes have a fairly substantial cost associated with participation. We are doing fundraising and would like to look at giving members the opportunity to apply for scholarships to help with the cost (if we are unable to make it free for all participants--doesn't look possible this year). We also open our teams to non-members but would like to reserve scholarship opportunities for members only as a benefit to membership. At this point the fundraising is being done by our group members, not the non-members.

Anyone else have a group which does scholarships or financial assistance for folks to participate in activities? Do you have a set of guidelines you'd be willing to PM me so that we could gather suggestions? Thanks!
