laughing lioness
DS15 studying American History this year. Did Ren/Reform with Omni and Ancients with MP. Need a simple spine as guidance. He has a head for history and wants challenge without the speeding bullet approach (no more Omni). Thoughts/links/help of any kind appreciated. I'm maxed. Elizabeth in WA
I am using Paul Johnson's A History of the American People as a spine for American History this year. My "complete" text list is: Primary Texts: A History of the American People by Paul Johnson Freedom, Just Around the Corner by Walter A. McDougall Women and The American Experience, A Concise History by Nancy Woloch Throes of Democracy: The American Civil War Era 1829-1877 by Walter A. McDougall Conquest of the Americas, lectures 1-10, by The Teaching Company History of the United States, 2nd Ed. By The Teaching Company Great American Documents by Cambridge Editorial Partners Supplemental Materials: New England Economic Adventure by The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston I am also planning the literature component of our English class to go along with our history study.
