eaglei
Does anyone have a really good Christmas story (short) or poem that is suitable for a church bulletin? Over the last few years I have exhausted my supply of material and have just spent the last hour searching the internet for something worthwhile. Either the links led to other links, or to secular stories, or to stories that were much too long. Perhaps something has been printed in your bulletin that you could share (along with the author or reference, please . . .)? I need suggestions for the next two Sundays. Thanks in advance for any help!
Caitilin
The beginning of chapter 2, the one about Christmas in Little Women, where they receive their copies of Pilgrim's Progress? "Ring Out Wild Bells", from In Memoriam, by Tennyson? "Christmas," by John Betjeman? "Meditation on Christmas Eve", by Angelo Roncalli, who was later Pope John XXIII (scroll down one entry) "A Christmas Carol," by G. K. Chesterton? "Journey of the Magi," by T. S. Eliot? Guest sudgrimul
Evie Tornquist - One Small Child lyrics One small child in a land of a thousand One small dream of a savior tonight One small hand reaching out to the starlight One small city of light One king bringing his gold and his riches One king ruling an army of might One king kneeling with incense and candlelight One king bringing us life See him lying, a cradle beneath him See him smiling in the straw See his mother praising his father See his tiny eyelids fall One small light from the flame of a candle One small light from a city of light One small light from the stars in the endless night One small light from his face See the shepherds kneeling before him See the kings on bended knee See the mother praising his father See the blessed infant sleep One small child in a land of a thousand One small dream of a people of light One small hand reaching out to the starlight One small savior of life
