Some exercises in it require the ability to dissect well (eyeball, heart, kidney and brain, if I remember correctly. It isn't that the words are too hard but that the concepts behind the words may be too hard. Also, there is a picture of both male and female reproductive parts on page 124 (might bother some people but not others). I would put it at solidly 5th grade. By the way, we enjoyed it a great deal!
