How do you begin a secular co-op class?

Recommended Posts

I'm teaching two co-op classes next Friday. I'm looking for ways to come together as a group at the start. Prayer is traditional, but that's not a good option for us.

What activity do you plan at the very start of your meeting to get everyone into the right groove?

:bigear:Thank you in advance for any ideas.:bigear:

Well, I don't know what age group you are doing, but I am in charge of opening for our co-op. It is secular so we don't want to start with prayer. The kids range in age from 8-13 (we're just starting) but I plan on going over the rules for the first few weeks. I am planning on doing some logic games and puzzles from A Case of Red Herrings, spend a few weeks on American geography using state fact cards, doing some Mad Libs. You could do some sentences out of a Daily Oral Language book, some analogies.

Don't know if that is much help. Good luck. It is hard to come up with stuff.
