Guest
I posted another thread regarding taking a break from The Ordinary Parents Guide to Teaching Reading. My dd is a young six year old and is in first grade this year. We have got to Lesson 70 in OPGTR and she is just starting ETC 3. I was planning on starting Writing with Ease 1 and Growing with Grammar 1 next week. Now...it looks like we need to slow down our OPGTR instruction and just read real books and review what she has already learned. Can I still have her start WWE 1 and GWG 1? Or, should we wait until she is reading better? Edited August 27, 2009 by Guest
ariasmommy
I delayed starting FLL/WWE last year with my dd because I wanted to focus on phonics/reading. We "caught up" over the summer and it worked out fine. :)
Jim
This is our first year with our 8 y.o.. We decided to take a step back and fill in the gaps. Starting with WWE I we do two weeks work in one (4 days total) and it's a breeze. We could do a lot more if we wanted to but we'll keep this pace. I'd say there is no rush to start.
