mamato4girls
I LOVE the look and feel of WP! For my rising 3rd grader and 3 yr old, we are starting from the 'bottom', But for my rising 7th grader it seems like what she would do in their jr. high program she would repeat the same program a few years later in High School, and would be adding a few extra books. Am I looking at it wrong? I looked through the catalog and website, and didn't see anything to answer my question. So where to place a 7th grader and then will she repeat the same course in high school if we continue with WP?
Mandy in TN
In their catalog WP lists two different sequences. Customary Theme Order Parents usually prefer this order, as then students can complete most of our programs in their school years. This is our most popular theme “order.” Journeys of Imagination & I’m Ready to Learn Hideaways in History Animal Worlds American Story 1 American Story 2 Children Around the World Adventures in the Sea and Sky American Crossing American Culture Program To Be Announced Quest for the Ancient World Jr/Sr Quest for the Middle Ages Jr/Sr Quest for Royals & Revolution Quest for Modern Times (Future Release) and Repetitive History Cycle Order For families desiring to prioritize repetition of history cycles, although WP offers a different “take” on this concept (see page 15). Journeys of Imagination & I’m Ready to Learn Hideaways in History Animal Worlds Children Around the World Adventures in the Sea and Sky Quest for the Ancient World 4/6 Quest for the Middle Ages 4/6 American Story 1 or American Crossing American Story 2 or American Culture Program To Be Announced Quest for the Ancient World Jr/Sr Quest for the Middle Ages Jr/Sr Quest for Royals & Revolution Quest for Modern Times (Future Release) Using their customary sequence, children do not repeat a theme package. Using the repetitive history cycle sequence, a child would use the quest series twice- once with the middle school package and once with the jr/sr package. Frankly, WP wasn't designed to be used for a cyclical education. It is CM inspired not WTM inspired. If your dd began right now, she could do American Crossing in 7th, American Culture in 8th, QAW in 9th, QMA in 10th, QRR in 11th, and QMW in 12th. She would never repeat a theme.
