Thank you Laura for the information. I will check into this.

I can't speak specifically to the SOTW, but there are a lot of books you can read on-line. I was just told about books through the Baldwin project and there are hundreds on-line. Does your library participate in any sort of system where you can order books from another library and have them sent to your library? Might be worth an inquiry.
Here is the link to the Baldwin project:

I have 4 mugs in a small but very sturdy basket. One mug for pencils, one for pens, one for highlighters, one for markers and scissors. We also use those plastic cases so that when we have to school out of our house we each just grab our own case and it's already packed to go!

I'd probably buy the book. Have you tried sites like paperbackswap.com and bookmooch? I've found quite a few books there for our homeschooling needs, including curriculum.

The rule of thumb is to take twice the amount of calcium as magnesium - so for every 1,000 mg calcium take 500 mg magnesium. Vitamins and minerals are such that you generally need to good spectrum of all of them so that they are absorbed properly - each seems to need the others for best utilization.
Hope this helps,

I want to start my 7th grader and 9th grader learning Latin. I'd really like to know what others are using and why you/ your children enjoy it.
Thanks!

I second this and the reason why is that this is the way I organize my books too!!!!. By subject and then grade within the subject. It makes things so much easier to find later! I love the idea of a master list -- can't tell you how many books I've duplicated because I didn't have one!!! LOL!! If you can make the garage a project where it isn't uninhabitable for books you might try your local ecyce or freecycle for bookcases.
Have fun!! :thumbup1:

I dont have near that many hs books yet but i am a very organized person as clutter causes me to short curcuit. I would first organize by subject into seperate boxes and then cross reference by grade. I would also make a master list for each subject box and list all grade levels, name of curriculum, and maybe even likes or dislikes and place this in a plastic protector sheet and tape to the top of the box. This would be a long process with as many as it sounds like you have but what a joy when you are finished. I even do this with extra bed linens and it is so much easier to find when i want to change the linens for spring or fall. Anyway hope this idea helps!!

I have to second Marla with homeschoolclassifieds.com
They are very easy and free to sign up with to sell items, and to find items. It is also a very easy site to navigate as far as figuring out how it works. They also have some great academic planner forms -- again for free -- to download. Homeschoolclassifieds gets a lot of "traffic" and has a lot of items listed for sale. They've been around for a while so it is well populated.
