  1. I would also recommend compound movements: deadlifts, squats, bench press, military press and bent over back rows. All of these can be done with a single barbell with out any plates. Focus more on muscle isolation and mind/muscle connection while lifting. This will make you focus  on the particular muscles you are working rather than putting strain on other muscles if your weight is too heavy.
