  1. I am thinking about using it with my dds that will be in 9th grade this fall. I would like to combine it with world history and spread it out over 2 years. Not sure how I would do that though. Any ideas? Is there a way to contact the author of the book if we have questions? Thanks, Peggy
  2. So does this mean this person has been banned from this website? Thanks, Peggy
  3. The last week and a half my arms started itching, then it went to my shoulders and neck. It itches most in the morning and at night. I was searching on the internet and came across dermatologist website and found a condition called brachioradal pruritus. I don't have dry skin. There is no rash on my skin. I don't think it's an allergic reaction, I haven't changed any products I use. Has anyone else dealt with this? Thanks, Peggy
  4. My ds and dd received iTunes cards for Christmas from their Grandparents. Our family listening to CC music, but my ds and dd have gotten into listening to other types of music through Pandora on the internet. They are careful about what the lyrics say and we also check on what they are listening to. Well, they want to buy some secular songs with their iTunes and we don't want them to. Are we making a big deal out of nothing? We want to set high standards for our children and don't want them getting into to buying secular music while they are in our home. When they get out of the house that is up to them. They are great Christian kids and strong in their walk with God. We don't want the music they listening to to cause them lose that. What do you all think? Thanks, Peggy
  5. Her friend had 3 years of photography in high school. The pictures turned out wonderful! We were so happy with them!
  6. I understand them better now though, but I still don't like them! I will try some of these ideas. Thanks!
  7. I have homeschooled my 4dc their whole life. My oldest, a girl, will graduate in the spring. My second is a boy who's 16. Both of these children are very social and active in church youth group and other activities with lots of friends. My last two, twin girls who are 14, are great, loving, helpful girls. They have no friends, just each other. They don't talk to anyone at youth group, and no one talks to them. They will talk and carry on a conversation if someone talks to them, but generally they are very quiet. They really enjoy being with me, but I thought at this phase of their life they would have friends by now. Since they have been homeschooled they are together all the time. Sometime I feel that this might be a detriment to them. Has anyone else dealt with this? Peggy
  8. It has been a very frustrating year so far. We decided to have our dds (they are twins) take pre algebra at a coop this year, since they were having attitude learning issues with me. They are very sweet helpful girls, but when we do math, one in particular turns into Mr. Hyde. She is not like this at any other time. It's like she has an on off switch. They have always had trouble with math and that is why I decided to have them take it from someone else. With my older two children I used Teaching Textbooks, which worked great. At the coop they are using Saxon. They have been doing horrible on their homework. Missing 10 is a good day. They both got D's on their first test, and the one they took today didn't look much better. One dd in particular just doesn't read the directions and is very careless about how she does each problem. How can I make her care!?! I have shed many tears of frustration. When I talk with my husband about this he is not much help. He is frustrated and says "just send them to public school" or something of the sort. I don't feel like he is very supportive or encouraging. Should we quit the class and do TT at home? Should we get a tutor? I really have no one IRL to talk to about this that understands. Peggy
  9. My dd will be going to JUCO this fall and I would like to get her used textbooks. On her book list they give the title, ISBN#, edition and year. When I'm searching for the book do all of those things need to match or can I just used the ISBN#? I've searched under ths ISBN# and the edition matches, but not the year. I didn't know if that matter. Thanks Peggy
  10. I've never done that before. He wants to learn about warefare of the western world. The books from Westpoint look really interesting. The book I was looking at that got this all started was Military History of the Western World by J.F.C. Fuller. Another I saw was Soldiers and Warriors: An Illustrated History. I thought he could pick one volume of the Military History, because there is several, and we could call it Military History I. What's the first step I need to take in planning a course? How do I know how much to have him do? Help!
