  1. ds loves Halloween and asked for costumes for Christmas. ;)

I don't think he's decided yet, but he is excited that he can talk about Halloween and check out Halloween books from the library now without people thinking knowing that he's extremely strange.

My dd9 loves Halloween and always wants Halloween books from the library. Your son is not alone. :)

  2. It's Okay, That's Love

That episode was...  BUT THE PREVIEWS FOR THE NEXT ONE!!!!!

    [edited to remove picture]

I forgot it is Thursday already. I have to catch up on It's OK, It's Love since I left off last Wednesday half way through the show. I also have to watch last episode of Marriage, Not Dating. Finally I have to catch up on Fated to Love. Oh, and I am in the middle of Can Money Become Love which is pretty good.

Has anyone seen Incarnation of Money? That was fantastic IMHO. I love Kang Ji Hwan too. I have not seen Big Man yet. Anyone see it and like it? No spoilers please :)

I really enjoyed Marriage, Not Dating.  Fated to Love is just too cute.  I adore Gun.  The last episode should be up tonight.  I hope it will be, anyway.  I can't believe it's over!

    [edited to remove picture]

I haven't heard of Can Money Become Love, so I'm adding it to the list.  Hm... Not finding it.  Is it Can Love Become Money?  I found that one.  I haven't seen Incarnation of Money or Big Man, so adding those, too.

Just started It's Okay, It's Love today.  My normal show wasn't subbed yet so I decided to try it out finally since I had time.  It seems like a good one and yeah, I know everyone has been loving it for ages but I had too many dramas on my plate and school starting when it started.

LOL  I've got too many going right now, too.  Especially since full school schedule has started back.  I hope you like It's Okay, It's Love.  I can see watching it again just to marathon it.  I think I would get the nuances of some of the character arches better after a second viewing without having to wait a week in between.

  3. So I was all ready to jump in and reply to posts and eveything last night, and the power went out.  Ahhh!!!!

It means that everything just kind of goes crazy and everything is just so unbelievable and possibly over the top but you can't tear yourself away from it.  For instance in a certain weekend drama I'm watching right now the main girl has been in prison 3 times in 10 episodes and each time she was sort of set up but also she kind of brought it on herself as well.  I like the ones where it's kind of anything goes in the plot.  Some of my favorites are:

    Secret Love

    Secret Love Affair

    Temptation

    Endless Love

    Hundred Years' Bride

    A Man's Story

Haeundae Lovers--which has every drama trope known to man but makes it work in a comedic way

    Time Slip Dr. Jin

When a Man Loves--this one was something else and I couldn't tear myself away from it.

They are not for everyone and I often find myself sobbing over some of them or just doing the dripping shower of tears.  But they can be so good.

I LOVE Bride of the Century (Hundred Years Bride)!!!  Can you guess why?   :tongue_smilie: I don't know that I'd call it a train wreck, though.  Well, maybe the last few episodes.  I never understood why she had to, um how to say without spoilers, do what she had to do towards the end.  Also, how they ended up with any children when every time they were in bed they were fully clothed from the neck down.  I mean, come on!  I know Hong Ki has tattoos, but a turtle neck every time?!    I know it was freezing 'cause it was the middle of winter, but geeze, can't they at least invest in a couple of space heaters for scenes like that?  LOL

Okay so I realized that in Mino's 'I'm Him' M/V, the rest of winner is doing the dog dance, too.  At 2:31 and 2:35 I had to pause it to look at all of their expressions - they are hysterical.

One of the youtube channels I subscribe to, Eat Your Kimchi, did a hilarious kpop music monday this week - I don't know if it was on monday, though... where they covered a lot of the songs that came out in August.  The things they were saying had me laughing so hard I was crying.  Note: they're not kid friendly.  Well... it depends.  But just in case, I'd say not kid friendly.  But oh so hysterical.  They're Canadian and they live in Korea now.

It's Okay, That's Love had SO MANY FEEEELLLLSS this week!!!  I cried.  Not even gonna lie.

You just noticed that the other members were there?  LOL  Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, I had no idea either when watching it.  I found out when I was watching a MV reaction video and one of the girls said something about the background people being the other WINNER members.

Eat Your Kimchi is so funny.  I'll have to go see their latest Music Monday vid.

Oh, gosh.  I know we are in for some pain with It's Okay, That's Love, but I don't know if I can handle it.  I'm going to go right now and watch it before I get the girls up.  Hold my hand?  :crying:

  4.

That's the whole episode with the Heirs parody. It's long but I was cracking up. Mino = Young Do = perf. And his eyebrows are SERIOUSLY CRACKING ME UP.

HYSTERICAL!! I could hardly breath while watching. You weren't kidding about his eyebrows, either. They were a character all on their own!

I'm sitting in the car waiting for dd11 to get out of her art class. Dd9 is in the back with her headphones on belting out Fantastic Baby at the top of her lungs. LOL She actually says a lot of the Korean parts pretty well.

  5. The Big Bang parodies are so funny and the Secret Garden one is classic.

I'm now following Peaceful Choas on pinterest or at least the Small Screen Gems board.

It's fun to come here in the mornings and see what new stuff you all have to say. Now off to watch the latest episode of Temptation before I wake the kids to do schoolwork.

I like their BOF parody, too. Big Bang is just awesome all around.

I've been following your Korean board on Pinterest for ages! I just started following a few of your other boards, too. I'm Michele B there, and Hong Ki is my avitar.

Have you been enjoying Temptation? I haven't started it 'cause the premise leaves me feeling a little icky. Thoughts?

  6. Yes, the spoof of G Dragon on Surplus Princess was hilarious.

I actually liked the main actress of The Woman Who Married Three Times as I felt she fit the character (seemed kind of cold and indifferent but beaten up by life and just tired of it all) but maybe she was just typecast or something. My problem with the thing was (SPOILER ALERT if you scroll down):

Oh, wow.  Glad I read the spoiler.  I don't see me being able to watch that one at. all.

  7. OH. MY. GOSH.

    I just died.

I'm so glad DH had walked out of the room.  I think I jumped.

Where do you live, we should be friends in real life.  Then when kpop bands come to the US we can go see the concerts together.

    And do this:

    and this:

I'm like, dude, I just found my WTM forum soulmate.   :smilielol5:

That's the whole episode with the Heirs parody.  It's long but I was cracking up.  Mino = Young Do = perf.  And his eyebrows are SERIOUSLY CRACKING ME UP.

And this killed me, in the actual drama:

    http://www.pinterest.com/pin/32158584813593372/

ETA: Crap! the pictures didn't work... posting links!

ETAAgain: Oh great. Now I keep scrolling up just to see it again.     :leaving:

    Sorry, not sorry.  *evilgrin*

YES!  We so need to become friends in real life so we can spaz out together!!!!  Everybody I know IRL thinks I'm crazy.  I'mma PM you.  And add you as a friend here on WTM.  Believe it or not, we do actually have school during the day.  LOL

Now I'm going to watch the video.

Oh, and is that you on pinterest?  I can follow you there, too.  I'll send you a link to me, too, if you'd like to follow me.   :D

  8. Where are you watching Winner?  I have to see a subbed Heirs parody!

I think I am going to watch shows on my computer on viki from now on.  I usually watch on my phone, but the app doesn't have all the awesome in episode comments.  They are hysterical!

These are my people.  I tried it out with a drama I watched before, Fall In Love With Me, and when the guy came out in a ridiculous outfit a ton of people asked, "What the freak is he wearing?!" The person who asked if he was trying to be Little Lord Fauntleroy needs a prize. :smilielol5: Others commented that he was showing up Kim Tan with the funny clothes. :)

Oh, gosh.  I will not go re-watch past dramas on Viki for viewer comments.   I will not go re-watch past dramas on Viki for viewer comments.  I will not go re-watch past dramas on Viki for viewer comments.  I won't, I tell you!

Seriously, I need more hours in the day.  Or to not need sleep.  That would help.

Ok I was cracking up.  Did you see the one on Infinity Challenge?

WINNER TV - youtube.  That's where I watched WIN: Who is Next, too.

    ETA:

as a bonus, here's GD performing Crooked with both teams from WIN as his backup dancers.

    That was hysterical! LOL

OK, I'll look WINNER TV up on Youtube.

Great performance by GD, as always.

  9. You and I, we are the same, we are.

I was going to quote your other post but I'm on my phone and it's harder to reply to everything.

I thought the chick in rooftop prince was awful, as well.

It's actually a relief, sometimes, if they put funny cuts at the end of the show, bc then I can remember, 'oh, right, this is a SHOW! That person is ACTING! They are not actually a horrible witch!' Etc.

Seriously. It's a good thing sometimes.

I'm 31, so I'm older than a lot of ppl, too. I will say that this most recent...uhhhmmmmm... 'Bias discovery' is definitely the youngest. Other than that I've always seen them all as adorable kids, if that makes sense. Mino is 21.

I figure that's still acceptable bc 1. He's legal and 2. I have friends who's spouses are 12-13 years older. So as long as I don't go over that limit.

Of course, I used to swear up and down that GD looked like he was 12 and was little boy cute, too. And then one day I didn't.

I like the behind-the-scenes montages at the ends, too.  It's nice to see everyone working on the drama and having a good time.  Definitely a good reminder that they are actors, and not those horrible people in real life.  At least, we hope they aren't!

I'll be 38 this month.  Yeah.  I understand about seeing them as adorable kids.  Sometimes I have to remind myself that they really aren't kids, but men in their mid-20s.  My aunt and uncle are 12 years apart, and I use them as my benchmark.  Oh, he's only 9 years younger than me?  My aunt and uncle are 12, so no problem!  Hong Ki's 14 years younger than me?  That's only 2 more years than my aunt and uncle, so totally doable!   :smilielol5:

I completely get what you are saying about swearing that GD looked like a little boy, and then didn't.   ;)

Your post really made me laugh out loud hard.  :smilielol5: You guys are all so funny.

Oh my, Big's ending was one of the biggest disappointing moments in my whole K-drama watching years. Think it almost topped the most terrible ending of the old K drama "Lovers in Paris" (that everything happened was just a daydream) in K drama history. Such a #$%^& stupid drama, lol. BTW, you all know Lee Min Jung is the wife of Lee Byung Hun, right?

I'm 34 and you all know more about the recent K pop than I do, haha. The only GD's song I know is Crooked and I liked EXO's Growl M/V but that's all since like 2010. I can't keep up any more, lol. And it's quite sad to realize those idols once used be Oppas and then peers to me, and now I'm not sure I can even be a Noona to them any more, probably more an Ajumma. :crying: lol

Below are a few examples of the K hip hop/pop from 90s and early 2000s that I'm more used to. The first one is by Psy. The last song is what we used to dance with in a group in middle school like you did with Michael Jackson's Thriller. Time flies...

I'm glad it's funny.  I'm always afraid I'm going overboard with posts and annoying everybody.  Like, I'm laughing away, and everyone else is:  :toetap05: would you just stop already?

Big and the infamous umbrella.  I hate that umbrella.  I haven't seen Lovers in Paris, so thanks for the heads-up.  I'll steer clear.

I didn't know Kdramas or Kpop existed until I started reading this thread back in January.  ALL the songs are new to me, so I'm really enjoying current comebacks, and songs from years ago.  Who knew saying "Sorry" could be so fun?  Don't feel bad, Moon, there isn't one actor/idol yet that I can call Oppa.  It's so sad.  WAIT!!!!!!!!  I just looked up Yoon Sang Hyun.  OPPA!!!!!!!!!!!!

    [edited to remove picture]

Thanks for sharing the videos.  That last one looks like it would be a lot of fun to dance to.  I can see why it's like Thriller.  Plus, it would be a lot easier than learning how to dance to Growl...

    [edited to remove picture]

I'm just not that limber any more.  And since you brought up EXO, I must post a gratuitous Kai pic.

    [edited to remove picture]

    That jaw, though...

I have a worse ending than Big: Thrice Married Woman (aka The Woman Who Married Three Times). What makes it even worse is that it was 40 episodes just to get to that ending and I really could not believe it. Horrible. It wasn't left ambiguous, it was just plain horrible. The bad guys win and live happily ever after, the heroine's ending is somehow supposed to be a positive but I can't possibly get over what she had to give up (for no understandable reason since she had leverage). Major waste of time.

Thank you for telling about this.  I will put it on my never-to-be-watched-ever list.  I would not be able to contain the rage at bad guys winning and a mediocre ending for the heroine.

So I'm just sitting here just now, perusing Pinterest and minding my own business, eating my tacos...

    And this pops up.

    [edited to remove picture]

I nearly choked.  I can't even look at it that long.

You're mean.  I don't like you anymore.  Just for that, you get a lip bite.

    [edited to remove picture]

I haven't seen Princess Aurora and don't usually watch that long of ones but I love the ones with the crazy story lines.  I tried watching Temptation of Wife but had too many other shows going on but I'm going to get back to it some day.  It was a real trip.  But then I'm the age of an ajumma--early 40s.

Kpop has gotten really popular over the last few years.  When we went to the local anime convention they even had forums/classes on it.  The only reason I know a lot of the groups and who is in the groups is because on another social place I hang out everyone is always posting pictures and videos.

What I want to know is, when are these companies going to realize that the US is more than just New York and LA (and sometimes Chicago and Dallas)?  I mean, I understand having concerts in large cities, but what about Atlanta??  What about us in the southern states?  It is much to expensive to travel to New York or LA for a concert, but I can drive to Atlanta in a couple of hours.  And what's with the World Tour business being China, Japan, and Taiwan?  LOL

I'm at work right now so I can't watch it (just because this computer doesn't have sound lol), but I will later.

Oh, and I don't know what I was thinking all this time, not linking the BigBang Secret Garden parody...

Apparently WINNER did an Heirs parody.  I believe it's in the episode of WINNER TV that I'll be watching tonight.   :hurray:

Oh my gosh!  Big Bang's Secret Garden parody!!!

    SMEEEELLLLL!!!   :smilielol5:

    My favorite part:

    [edited to remove picture]

OK, I'm going to have to start watching WINNER TV.  Can you share where you watch it?

  10. Lee Byung Hyun was in G.I. Joe 1&2 and will star in Terminator: Genesis. Choi Min Shik (from Old Boy) is in Luc Besson's Lucy. Rain did a few movies, too. The major obstacle for Korean actors to enter Hollywood is the language barrier. And I think flower boys don't appeal much in the U.S.? (I'm actually pleasantly surprised to see so many of you like the actors like Lee Min Ho.) :)

Regarding the shoes, Koreans don't wear shoes inside the house and rarely even wear indoor slippers. I love walking around with bare feet in house. :D In all Korean houses/apartments, there is a little room for putting on/off shoes at the entrance and we just sit on the floor next to it. But my American DH put a little chair there. ;) (We don't wear shoes in our American house, either.) Until like 1970s Koreans used to sit and sleep on the floor all the time and sofa, tables, chairs and beds are relatively new to the Korean culture. It makes more sense as Koreans use floor heating instead of the air heater in the winter time. And, thus, keeping the floor absolutely clean is important to us. The floor is usually either wooden or linoleum (no carpets), and we vacuum and mop/steam cleaning it thoroughly everyday. To me, it's frankly a bit hard to understand how some Americans let their babies crawl around on the floor where they walk around with their shoes on.  And it could be a little awkward to ask our guests who are not used to this custom to take their shoes off when they enter our house. Repairmen usually refuse to do so...

Thank you, Moon, for sharing cultural insights and thoughts.   ^_^

When I first started watching dramas, I thought many of the "flower boys" looked a little on the feminine side.  Now, I don't notice it unless someone asks me if the person in the picture is a girl, and I'm all like, "What?!  You can't tell that is one fine looking MAN right there??"  LOL  I guess perceptions change with exposure.   :D   What I can't get over is how young everybody looks.  I mean, how is it that everybody looks like they are at least 10 years younger than they are?  (Unless you're in an idol group, and look like you're in your 20s, but really you're 16 and I've just become a pedo-noona. I'm looking at you Jeon Jung Kook.)

  11. I can't read anymore of this thread. I saw spoilers.

Maybe one question. I don't know if Lee Phillip has been mentioned. Does he remind anyone else of Keanu Reeves?

Oh, no!  I hope I wasn't posting spoilers.  I hate when that happens.

I never noticed Lee Phillip resembling Keanu Reeves, but now that you mention it, I can kinda see it.  Maybe it's the narrow face and longer hair?

  12. I'm currently hooked on Jang Bo Ri is Here. The show is ridiculous but it is like crack. The first 20 episodes, I was so annoyed by it. After that, it started getting a lot better. Now, around 35+, it is downright addicting and action-packed. Sucks for Lee Yoo Ri (Min Jung) though with the amount she gets slapped around but I'm sure if I had a person like that in my life it would be all I could take not to kick her in the face every time she entered a room.

About the musical stuff...I don't listen to music but I was familiar with IU from when she sang in You're the Best Lee Soon Shin and I heard 'You and I' somewhere else as well. I watched 'Trot Lovers' though and Eunji's voice is amazing, even when she's just singing trot acapella. I heard she's part of a girl band and doesn't usually shine too much in it but really, any song she sang in that drama was great and she clearly has talent.

Speaking of wanting to kick them in the face...

    [edited to remove picture]

There are so many of them!!  LOL  But this is the most evil I have seen:

    [edited to remove picture]

I seriously wanted to go through my screen and kill her.  Pure evil, that one.

Trot Lover's was so good!  Eun Ji is from a group called A Pink, and she has such a lovely voice.  I LOVE her in Answer Me 1997.  I need to watch That Winter, The Wind Blows, too.

Yep, that's the one I was thinking!  GD!!!!!!!!!!  Haru loves him so much lol.  It was hysterical.  (and maybe understandable... ahem...)

Oh, I forgot to add this funny sidenote: So apparently I really like rappers.  Who knew?  I mean, I do now... but like, the first few kdramas I watched I was like, 'That guy is cool... I wonder who he is'  then I google it and 'Oh, he's a rapper'.  Then that happens like SEVERAL TIMES.  Then, every time I hear a new group, I'm just waiting to decide on the rap.  Apparently being raised as a classical musician has turned me into a rap fan over all else.    I didn't like So Ji Sub all that much but he gained cool points when i found out he was a rapper.

Last week after watching a couple episodes of 'It's Okay, That's Love', I had a dream shortly before waking up that I was flirting with the main guy in that - he's not even my style at all lol!  And then my friend was like, 'As in, he's not even a RAPPER!'

    -.-

Yes, GD is totes my style!     I loved it when Haru asked if she could buy GD, and her dad said he was too expensive.  LOL  GD said she couldn't buy him, but he would buy some good food for her.  They are just too cute.

I can't stand rap.  Hate it.  Then I started listening to Kpop.  I love rap!  It's great!  (Only in Kpop.)

    I love It's Okay, That's Love.

    [edited to remove picture]

Of course, my problem is I'm always a noona, at even an ahjumma, to most of the actors/idols.   :crying:

I just finished Secret Garden today!!!! WOW! I think it has taken top spot for me.   I loved the female lead in this one better than the one in Boys Over Flowers. And I loved that you got to see them interact after their marriage and see their children. Plus they actually kissed in Secret Garden instead of the weird "no kissing" kisses that are in Boys Over Flowers.  It was a great, great story. Now I've got to find my next one to watch.....

Yes, Secret Garden has THE best ending of all the dramas I've seen.  If you're looking for real kissing, may I suggest Me Too, Flower! with Yoon Shi Yoon and Lee Ji Ah?  Oh My Goodness.  Best Kiss Scene Ever.  She is so lucky...  His skills were totally wasted on Park Shin Hye in Flower Boy Next Door.  I'm going through serious Yoon Shi Yoon withdrawals since he enlisted.   :(  Two years, please hurry up.  Me Too, Flower! is really good.  I don't know why it wasn't well received.  It ended up being only 15 episodes, instead of its original 16.

I would conquer the Hong Sisters' dramas next. Master's Sun (very different and cool IMO), Greatest Love, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho, and My Girl. But not Big. Never Big.

Never Big?  Wae?  Because of that terrible, horrible, no good, very bad, ambiguous ending?   :glare:   :banghead:

I actually like Gong Yoo better in Big than Coffee Prince.

For Lee Min Ho--City Hunter is my top pick then Personal Taste.  I still have to finish up Faith aka The Great Doctor.  Heirs is also good but I really only watched it for Kim Woo Bin.  I've seen just about everything he's been in except the dramas Vampire Idol and The Cupid Factory.  And the movie Runway Cop which is now on Hulu and I should have that one done sometime this week.  He also has Twenty and The Professionals coming out.

I have a hard time picking which I like better between City Hunter and Faith.  They are both so different.  I love Personal Taste.  It is so funny!  I like Heirs.  I like to make fun of Kim Tan's wardrobe in Heirs.   :p

    [edited to remove picture]

    [edited to remove picture]

Come on!  This is basically the expression she has in every kissing scene in every drama I've ever seen her in.  LOL

    [edited to remove picture]

For those Master's Sun fans out there.

    Best scene in Heirs:

    [edited to remove picture]

I'm easy to please but it has to be romantic comedy, and if not that, then it has to be something bloody like A Company Man or The Man from Nowhere with Won Bin, preferably the latter where the main character actually lives.

But I'm not seeing anything like that on Netflix or Amazon, and I am very reluctant to subscribe to anywhere else. I guess I could do a free trial for 60 days with that one site recommended up thread.

I liked Master's Sun, but I had to stop due to all those ads. Oh, and I did watch a couple of episodes of this show starring Hyun Bin and a very popular actress he used to date, but those ads got in the way, and it didn't have the pull of Secret Garden.

Because of adds, I started watching on Dramafire.com.  They don't have any adds.  If you want to finish Master's Sun, you can find it here.

    Quick question....

Do any of these awesome (and extremely handsome!) Korean actors ever make it into US movies?

ETA: Another question: I've noticed that in the Kdramas they always take off their shoes and have house shoe type things to slip on, even for guests. My question is how do they get their shoes back on. I never see benches or anything for them to put shoes on. Are all of their shoes slip on/slip off shoes without needing to be tied. How does it work?

I know there was an actress, but I can't think of who it was at the moment.  I know Rain was in one recently:

  13. Note to self - watch at least that episode!!

Okay, so first off - this is so true.    I don't love a lot of girls/girl groups, either - I think I have 'Genie' by SNSD and one song by Miss A, though I do have quite a few from 2NE1.  CL's MTBD is my fave (by a girl lol).

I made a playlist the other day of JUST BB songs (and solos from the members) and had 51 just on that playlist.    I know if I were to make one of just YG artists it would be insane.  Apparently I'm a YG Ent fan.

Now, back to the variety show thing... WINNER just came out, right, with their song 'Empty' a couple weeks ago - and I was like, you know, this isn't too bad... (linking the latest live perf because I really like it live lol)

So then I thought, huh, I'll watch the show.  I didn't watch it when it was on but then I was curious.

So I watched it.  By the last episode, this happened:

(that's the team that didn't win, but either way I was IN TEARS during that song - seriously.  That first verse for his mom?  Get out.)

And then the M/V for Mino's solo dropped yesterday...

(my best friend was like...'what is this?  there are rainbows...wings...what the heck?'  lol)

I'm going to gloss over the fact that he's 11 years younger than me right now and just say he's my bias in WINNER and that I'm a fan... oh and now I'm watching WINNER TV.

    Yeah....... :leaving:

    ETA:  This is accurate:

    http://www.pinterest.com/pin/32158584813128867/

    YG family is just awesome.

I saw WINNER's debut MVs, but I have stayed away from the variety shows 'cause I just can't with another group right now.  LOL  I have so many that I'm still trying to learn their names, and my bias list keeps being wrecked.  I made the mistake of watching History's little web variety show, History's Panda PR, and now I can't get enough of them.  They are all bias wreckers; I can't pick just one!  I love their teasers right before their debut.  If you get a chance, you should check them out.  They are so cute!  Here's a link to their playlist on 1theK's Youtube.  There are five very short intros, one for each member.  Scroll down to the bottom of the playlist and you'll see them.  They are dating tips!  LOL  My dd11's bias is Do Kyun.  She says he has the cutest smile.   :)

I hadn't seen Mino's MV yet.  That was good.  I wish it were subtitled, as I bet there is a lot of wordplay going on in it.  I understand your friend's reaction, but it's all normal to me now.  LOL

Oh, goodness!  That clip had me tearing up!  What is that from?

Yes, the pin is 10000000% accurate.

I really don't know the names of anyone in FT Island but I love to listen to Hong Ki sing so I listen to their stuff quite a bit.  I actually need to go and find more songs.  And I had to quit watching We Got Married because I didn't want to have my heart broken at the end by watching him get his heart broken when she had to leave.  He and Mina were so cute together and the chipmunks were just adorable.  I can see why so many people really like him.  He has a range of emotions in his personality from cute to manly to even a bit dark.

I don't know that I actually fan girl over anyone but after discovering Jung Kyung Ho in Heartless City, I spent the next few weeks watching everything that he had been in that I could find.  He's just such a good actor and so believable in all his different roles.

Just FYI ( :tongue_smilie: ): Choi Jong Hoon - Leader, lead guitar; Lee Jae Jin - vocals, bassist; Song Seung Hyun - rapper, vocals, guitar; Choi Min Hwan - maknae, drummer; and of course Lee Hong Ki - lead vocal

Yes, I was balling my eyes out when they had to say goodbye.  I haven't watched another We Got Married since because I can't handle the ending.  LOL  I know it isn't real, but you get so attached.  I like that they are still friends, and he even saw her during their concert tour, The Passion, in Japan back a couple months ago.

I haven't seen anything with Jung Kyung Ho in it, so I'll have to add them to my list.

My favorite show is "The Return of Superman (슈í¼ë§¨ì´ ëŒì•„왔다)." It's about celebrity dads struggling to take care of babies while moms are away. You might find it interesting to see how Koreans do differently in parenting and baby care.

I've seen little clips from the show, and I keep meaning to watch.  I need to look it up.

Would it surprise anyone to hear that I've seen the clips of Return of Superman with Tablo and Haru when she's backstage with him and BigBang?

    Didn't think so.

  14. MLBuchina,  You are spot on about the variety shows.  They can be just as addictive as the dramas.  I don't really get into the pop music that much but because of variety shows (and friend's posts) I seem to know who every one is in all the groups.  Currently, I'm addicted to Roommate but in the past I've enjoyed watching all sorts of variety shows like Running Man, Can We Get Married, Dad Where are we Going?, etc.  Plus just watching some of the cute clips of some of the shows when people post them.

Did you watch Hong Ki on Can We Get Married?  He also did one of those Mnet dating scandal shows where he "dated" some fan for a week.

I like Running Man, Barefoot Friends, Roommate.  I've started watching BTS: American Hustle Life, and it is a riot!  I'm behind on all of them, though.  The dramas keep pulling me in.  I wonder if Roommate will last much longer, as cast members keep leaving.  I also wonder why Chanyeol picked the short bed in their room.  I wonder strange things.  LOL

Yes, I saw Hong Ki on We Got Married: Global Edition, and that is what got me hooked.  lol  He laughed, and my heart hasn't been mine since.     After seeing that, I started listening to FT Island, and watching all the dramas, movies, and variety shows that Hong Ki has been in.  He is just too adorable.  I enjoy a lot of Kpop groups, and watch a lot of dramas, but nobody turns me into a 12-year-old fangirl like Hong Ki.

This is my favorite performance by FT Island on Immortal Song 2 (it's from 2011):

I've never wanted to go to concerts before, but if I had the money, I'd be flying overseas and become a groupie.   :smilielol5:

  15.

This thread ought to be shut down.

So is everyone just watching these on dramafever? I'm not finding much on Netflix or Amazon Prime.

And if I knew how to posts pictures here I would be posting lots of Hyun Bin. Clearly, some of you have not seen Secret Garden.

I watch on Netflix, Viki, Dramafever, Kdrama.com, but mostly Dramafire.com.

The food gets me everytime!!! It looks SO good and makes me so hungry.

Oh, I know.  I want to learn how to cook some of that.  There's a Korean restaurant not far from my house, and I got some really good bulgogi last weekend.  Mmm.. masisseoyo (맛있어요)!

Just made friends with you AmicusRose--that is if you have Lee Hong Ki as your profile pic.

Yes, that's me!  I LOVE Hong Ki!!   :001_wub:

Forgot about Kong Hyojin! She's such an unique actress. Not considered beautiful by Korean standards but her natural and good acting magnifies her charm. Her nickname in Korea is "Kong-vely (Kong + lovely)" and she is the indisputable present queen of Korean romantic comedy shows after Kim Sun Ah.

OH, SHE IS DATING LEE JIN WOOK NOW!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr...........   :cursing:   :tongue_smilie:

Got herself a Crown Prince, huh?   :tongue_smilie:  I really enjoy her acting.  I've liked all that I've seen her in.

I don't understand how you can have K-Pop without IU, personally  :p.

I don't know why it is, but I have not found a girl group, or singer, that I especially like.  I have tons of guy groups I like listening to, but no girls.  I've tried listening to IU, f(x), SNSD, and others, but I just don't care for them.  I did like IU's MV for You and I, but that was because Lee Hyun Woo was in it.   :D   The song was nice, too, but not something I just had to have on my mp3 player.  Maybe I should try watching some of the variety shows with girl groups.

  16.

I hope they don't mess it up.  There was a Boys Before Flowers done here, and it was terrible!

I just finished Rooftop Prince and have started The King of Dramas.  I may be becoming a KDA.

Rooftop Prince was the first drama to make me cry.  I loved the OTP so much!!!

I just finished that one.  It was so good.  I already miss it.  I loved the music in that one and I think I downloaded all the songs.  But I have Nine Plus Boys to look forward to now.  It's the next drama after Married, Not Dating.  Hopefully, it'll be another cute one.

I liked the music from Marriage, Not Dating, too, but I think the OST from It's Okay, It's Love is better.

I watched the first episode of Nine Plus Boys this morning, and it looks like it is going to be a good one.  I just checked on DramaFire.com and episode 2 is up, along with the next episode of What's With This Family.  Yes!

It's Okay, That's Love is KILLING me with how good it is!!!

    Ahhhh!!! SO.GOOD.

It is so good!!!  Speaking of It's Okay, It's Love, does anyone else want to ball their eyes out when D.O comes on the screen?  I think he is doing a very good job with his first acting gig.

Anyone watching Discovery of Romance? It's pretty good, too. :)

Yes, I'm watching, and I don't even care if it's good or not.  I am only watching for Sung Joon.  If he decided to sit for an hour and read out of the phone book, I'd watch it.  I just love his voice.

    [edited to remove picture]

He isn't too bad looking either.  I fell for him in Shut Up! Flower Boy Band.  I watched I Need Romance 3 for him.  Um, yeah.  Can I have a noona romance?  LOL  No, not really, but dang.  If the show ends up being good, that will just be a bonus.   :D

My friend is recapping it and I've watched the first episode but I got distracted by My Secret Hotel.  It's a pretty interesting story and Jin Yi Han is in it.

My Secret Hotel seems like it is going to be a great one, too.  I'm shipping Nam Sang Hyo (Yoo In Na, one of fave actresses) with Jo Sung Gyeom (Nam Goong Min) right now, but that may change if they would ever put the OTP together in more than just flashbacks.  This is the first thing I've seen Jin Yi Han in.  I really need to watch Empress Ki.

  17. Ok, so I have seen the Taiwanese version of Fated to Love You and liked it, so I was excited about the Korean version.  I watched about 15-20 mins of  the first episode and turned it off...I just can't get past how over the top the male lead was.  Does it get better?

If you can, please try and keep going.  It really is a great drama.

Yes.  I have a playlist with all my favorite songs from my favorite dramas.  And I also have stuff from FT Island, CNBLUE and some anime songs I really like.

I like watching currently airing dramas because it gives me better pacing and I'm less likely to abandon the family and go on a drama binge.  The two weeks I spent watching Empress Ki was probably hard on the family but I just couldn't stop watching or thinking about the show it was so good.

I LOVE FT Island.  They are my ultimate bias group, and Hong Ki is my ultimate bias.  I have almost all their albums, mini albums, and singles, both Korean and Japanese.  They have a new Japanese single coming out October 15 with all self composed songs.  Still waiting for the Korean comeback.  They've finished recording for it, but I don't see them releasing it until some time next year. :/  Their schedule is just so busy.  Hong Ki recently finished up performing in a musical in Japan, and just started filming a new drama due to start in October called Modern Farmer.  Loved Bride of the Century, so I can't wait to see him in the male lead again.

I agree that watching currently airing dramas helps with pacing, but there are so many completed ones to watch while waiting for the currents that I still end up marathoning some anyway. LOL  I want to see Empress Ki, but the 51 episodes is a bit daunting.  I want to see Hotel King, too, but it has 32 episodes!

I'm watching 9 current dramas...    :leaving:

I havent seen either of the shows, but took a peak at wikipedia to see what Great Doctor was about and sounded to me like similarities with Outlander??

The only similarities is that she is a doctor (Claire, in Outlander, is a combat nurse, but she eventually becomes a doctor), and time travel.  Well, and being held against your will.

Ladies, check out the first episode of Three Musketeers! It got great reviews and I loved it. :)

I saw it, and I wish it aired two episodes a week instead of just one.  If it keeps being this good, I'm going to hate that it's only 12 episodes long.  I wish High School: Love On, Surplus Princess, and What's With This Family aired two a week, too.  I've gotten so used to getting my fix twice a week, these airing only one are killing me.  LOL

  18. In an effort to not lose my replies, or be too angry if I do, I am going to reply in batches.   :001_rolleyes:

Oh the track suits too! "This was made in Italy!" I also love that they got married and had cute little kids.

Secret Garden has the best ending of all the dramas I've seen.  I loved it!  I love the actor who played Oska, Yoon Sang Hyun, and have enjoyed him in I Hear Your Voice and Gap Dong.  I loved Gap Dong, even though it seems that not a lot of people did.  I love the end credits song, too: Rush, by Every Single Day.  I was so surprised when I realized they are the same band that did the theme from

    .  It's a totally different sound.

I'm a Korean so I might see these differently, but among the recent popular dramas, I strongly recommend "It's Okay That's Love", "Heirs" (Lee Min Ho), "My Love from Another Star", "I Hear Your Voice", "Nine Time Travels" (slow start but it gets better after episode 4), "The Master's Sun", "I Need Romance 2012" (my favorite), "School 2013" (if you're curious about Korean high schoolers' life), "Answer me 1997" & "Answer me 1994" (about the 90s culture) and "The God's Gift: 14 Days" (about a missing girl and her mom's struggle to save her from death). All of these are on Hulu. :)

It's Okay, That's Love is SO GOOD!  I can't get enough of the song from it:

    .

Heirs, My Love from Another Star, I Hear Your Voice, The Master's sun, School 2013, Answer Me 1997, and Answer Me 1994 are all so good.  I love Answer Me 1997 a little better than 1994.  My favorite part in 1994 was when the cast from 1997 guest stared on 1994.  That bus scene, though!  LOL

I love her super fast life plan, lol! And I will never forget how to say meat in Korean after that drama. I like the scene where the kids say, "Daddy, buy meat!" over and over.

I don't think I've seen Flower Boy Next Door mentioned. It has Park Shin Hye and my favorite way for the couple to meet. I won't give it away, but it is hysterical!

Love Flower Boy Next Door.  I'm actually not a big fan of Park Shin Hye (some one please teach her to kiss, or stop giving her kissing scenes), but I adore Yoon Shi Yoon.  I was so sad when he enlisted for his 2 years service.

OK.  I am a drama addict.

Someone was wondering about more of Woo Bin's shows:

White Christmas is my favorite of his roles.  It is an 8 episode psychological thriller set in an academically advanced high school that is run like a prison.

A Gentleman's Dignity and  To the Beautiful You (based on the manga "Hana Kimi") are both good roles for him.

School 2013 is where he really shines and the bromance is epic.

For movies, he did an awesome job in "Friend:  the Legend."  But it is a pretty bloody gangster film and the sequel to a pretty epic movie that is not appropriate for children.

His upcoming movies "The Professional" and "Twenty" look good and I can't wait to see them.

I personally use Mydramalist.com to keep track of my current dramas and what I have watched.  I've watched over 70 dramas and 42 movies since I discovered these.  Currently I am watching 7 currently airing shows.  For newer shows I've loved:

High School King of Savvy--not for everyone.

Marriage not Dating--again not for kids because it's all about relationships.

Fated to Love You--a remake of a drama from Taiwan and may have some triggers

High School, Love on--very cute, appropriate for younger audiences and since the lead girl is only 14 and the lead actors are in their early 20s (from the group Infinite), we probably won't get more than a hug.

I'm also watching King 2 Hearts which is a really good one.  But older and staring Lee Seung Gi who is also in Gu Family Book and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho.

My top dramas of all time:

Cruel or Heartless City--Jung Kyung Ho is awesome in it but it is not for children.  It deals with undercover cops and gangsters and is a noir drama.

Swallow the Sun--Ji Sung at his best.  And kids could probably watch it but they may get bored since it deals with casinos.

Shut Up Flower Boy Band--kid friendly and I totally with Eye Candy was a real band.

Missing You--Eun Hye and YooChun do such a good job but it is full of triggers.  The younger cast did a great job with some really nasty scenes.  This one made me cry so much.

Secret Love--Again Ji Sung doing the bad boy thing so well and Hwang Jung Eum playing the poor pitiful victim so well (it's like all she does is go to prison in her dramas)  but not for kids.

I Hear Your Voice--So good.  Bo Young and Jung Suk do a great job but it is a bit of a darker one.

Gaksital or Bridal Mask is also an awesome one about the Japanese occupation.

    I typed too much--Sorry.

Don't worry, you aren't alone in your addiction.   :thumbup1:

I just finished watching White Christmas, and Oh My Gosh! it was amazing!!  I didn't want it to end.  I watched it here, for those who want to look for it.  Only bad thing about that site, though, is that the episodes are in parts.  The good thing is that the episodes are just about HD quality and have good subs.

I adored King of High School.  I thought it was just the cutest thing, and I could not get enough of Seo In Guk.  Gah! but that man is good looking, and I think he is a great actor and singer.  Loved him Answer Me 1997 along with Jung Eun Ji (love her in Trot Lover's, too).

On a side note... I loved the masters sun but didn't really find So Ji Sub all that cool until....
    I found out he's a rapper.
Then he gained cool points. And I bought 2 of his new songs.
I love rap. And inevitably, my favorite band members are the rappers.
And of course, my ultimate bias is a rapper. And just about everything else possible in the music industry. Not an actor, though. :) (Gdragon. And I'm linking the whole stinking m/v to my favorite song lol....
    http://www.pinterest.com/pin/434386326531510414/ )

I love Gdragon, TOP, and Big Bang in general.  My other favorite rapper is Zico from BlockB, and I am really starting to like Kim Si Young from History.  Speaking of Gdragon's Crooked, if you aren't watching Surplus Princess (The Mermaid), (why aren't you? 'cause it is hilarious!!!!), then you should at least check out episode 4 because they do a parody of Crooked.  I about died from laughing when that came on!

OK, that does it for this batch, now on to the next.   :tongue_smilie:
