  1. I am thinking of using it for 8th grade science, before biology and chemistry. All the reviews say it's for 9-12th grades, but the description says in integrates the physical sciences...chem, phys, and bio...I don't plan to use for hs, but what about as an introduction? If you've used this, know someone who has, or have a better suggestion let me know...with the exception of apolgia which seems to be too week in the science arena. We are math and science people and need something challenging and interesting while waiting for calc based physic's...
  2. Thank you for the replies, I will try calling Loyola press. The 2006 TE are too expensive, that's why I was switching to the 1999 versions.
  3. Does anyone know if there is a list of ISBN numbers of the older versions? Not the 50's and 60's but 1999 or 2004 versions. First I bought the 2006 versions, which we all like, except there are no answer keys. So now I am trying to find the 1999 versions with the teachers edition. However when I search for it I get a ton of books saying they are the 2004 version. What? There is no 2004 version. Tired of getting the wrong books....where is a list of all the editions with their corresponding ISBN's???
  4. We have a few years before high school, but it never hurts to be prepared;) looking at the description for this "program", it seems as though it provides numerous resources, ideas, direction...but no actual curriculum. Is this correct? How thorough is it? Has your high schooler used it? Did they like it? Any and all comments will be appreciated as this program is quite new. Thank you!
  5. I did, for 4 years. Although, because I am a nurse, full time is only 3 days per week. I worked night shift durring these years, and homeschooled my 3 grade school aged children on my days off. We used Seton, and were enrolled durring this time, but only did "school" 4 days per week. I would have to say that it is much easier to do this while they are K-5th. I find attitudes and curriculum change after 5th grade and our young men/women need additional supervision in order to stay properly motivated durring the 6th-9th grade transition period. Now I work only part time, 2 12hr days, and it is still hard, but more managable esspecially with toddlers and grandpa's running around the house LOL...There are times when I wonder, what exsactly I was thinking;D
  6. I see...Thank you, did not seem clear on their site that they were both options. Thank you:)
  7. My 7th grader is switching this year from Seton to kolbe. I am wondering why they have two writing texts? What is taught in the writing workshop versus the classical composition texts?
