    The beautiful sand and wildlife.

The sand is amazing. It is super fine and white as snow. The most amazing thing is that it stays cool. It doesn't get hot at all, and if you dig down with your feet, it gets even cooler.

Well that didn't work out they way I wanted. I think you can still see the photo by clicking on it.

  2. I will wave to you from AFSA (south side of town, just past the Galleria Mall). Sorry about the traffic. You have to time it just right.

If you get in a bad weather get-out-fast situation, pm me and I'll send you my address. You all can stay over for the night. :hurray: (not that I want there to be bad weather or anything...)

Thank you, Susan. You are so kind. I hope the weather cooperates.

We are in Alabama. I'm not sure what town, but we are eating at Cracker Barrel.

  3. It was awful. I thought I heard weird thunder because a storm was coming. I even told dh that sounded weird. I stepped outside to dump some ice and the neighbor's kid said what is that??? I looked up and something exploded.

Rumor has it a 5 year old was playing with gas and matches. But he and the family got out safely.

Dh and 2 neighbor husbands went in our backyards and sprayed the grass and roof and stuff until the fire department got to it.

I called 911 and got dc and dogs in the car and out of thr garage in case it came into our yard.

Oh, my! That is terrible. I'm glad everyone is safe.

  4. It's o'dark thirty. The twins are so excited. I had to send them back to bed for 30 minutes or so. We are going to the Florida panhandle, and we have had this planned since February. I hope Irma stays away. She doesn't know how much I need this vacation.

Looking forward to have some ITT Time!

    Have a happy day!

  5. Good morning, dear friends! I have missed you all!

Life has been chaos lately. It is a long story. Mom's health seems to be declining since she went home. I am having to do most everything at her house as well as my own plus school. It is hard. I have been so exhausted that I have fell asleep using the restroom the last three nights.

Anyway, I had to take mom to the ER yesterday. She was having severe pain in her right side and under her shoulder blade. I figured her pancreas was in a flare, but it wasn't. They done bloodwork and a CAT scan. Everything looked good: pancreas, liver, gall bladder, lungs, except the Dr said she has a thickening of her large intestine. So I will try to get an appointment for her to get a colonoscopy. We are still not sure why she was in so much pain. They did give her a shot of pain meds and nausea medicine.

We have been planning a vacation since February, and we are supposed to leave in the morning. Every time I get a bit excited about it, something happens with mom. The children are really excited. This is the first family vacation we have had in several years. I hope and pray everything works out.

I hope everyone is doing well, and I look forward to ketchupping tomorrow while Dh is driving.

    Have a beautiful day everyone!

  6. Thanks for all thoughts so far. I'm on my phone, but will come back and post more when I'm home. 😊

I believe I would try to spend some one-on-one time with the child and try to figure out the root of the problem. It could be many things, of course, but I would want to rule out any kind of bullying or depression type things first. It could be hormonal, 9 is young, but possible.

Now, it could be that this type of behavior has always been going on, and it will take some time to reverse this attitude. I don't know what I would do other than telling them that God made everyone special. He loves each and everyone, and He expects us to treat everyone including ourselves with kindness and compassion.

  7. Good Afternoon!

Our first day was good. Little ds had a rough start. He came out of it when he seen complaining was getting him nowhere and began to enjoy the day. We even managed to complete a globe project. :hurray:

I still have some planning and prepping to do, mostly morning/together time enrichment stuff. Oh, and my Plum Paper planner has not arrived yet. It was supposed to be here Tuesday, and now it has been changed to Friday. I am stalking usps try in hopes I can pick it up at the post office. Lana, do you like your planner?

I have to take dd17 to get senior pictures taken this evening. Maybe she will drive because I'm tired and don't feel like driving an hour there and an hour back.

  8. Good Morning!

Coffee! And today will be a More Coffee Day because I slept terribly last night. I was up several times, and the electricity went off at 2:30 a.m. and did not come back on until 6:15 a.m.

We are starting school today. I'm not ready, but we are starting anyway.

I have the ITT Booklist written down. I need to type it up and add the ones from AMJ and luuknam. I hope to do have it done this weekend.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Wednesday!

  9. Good Morning! Coffee!☕☕☕

    It looks like rain here.

Lots to do. Family reunion at noon. Grocery shopping and meds for mom. I have to do something with a 5 gallon bucket of garden tomatoes the neighbor gave us. And I want to work some more on the ITT Booklist. Thanks for all your favorites!

    Have a lovely day!

  10. I have made three batches with the contact solution and none of them will harden no matter how much contact solution I put in. I wonder if we got the wrong solution? This box says "all purpose solution" and is for soft contact lenses.

It could be the solution. There is a multi-purpose solution that contains a contact cleaner as well as saline. Then there is just a regular saline solution. I haven't made slime just a longtime contact wearer.

  11. Favorite children's book for which age group? And how do you choose? I absolutely love children's books.

    It's a Children's Book Love Booyah!

Any. I don't know how to choose either. The very first one that pops in your head. The most memorable. Picture book or chapter book, either, both. Doesn't matter. I love children's books too!
