  1. I had a busy weekend. I had adorable grandbaby cuteness Friday night and all day Saturday. She slept in the bed with me and slept 6 hours without waking. She likes to snuggle. She is smiling and laughing. So sweet. Then I had her again Sunday night and Monday.

It was a good school day, but now I'm tired.

    It is raining here, finally.

  2. Did you know Shel Silverstein wrote the song "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash? I don't know why, but I found this most interesting.

This bit of ITTrivia has been bought to you by PBS and useless things that you will never need to know unless it is a Jeopardy answer. 😂

Good night, dear friends, and sweet dreams.

  3. I've missed y'all!

Another day done. We had school. Then I had to go to dr. for a stupid UTI. At least he gave me refills on the antibiotics. So yay for that.

And guess what? You will never guess. Ds24 has bought a house, got married and had a baby girl.....Delaney Elizabeth. She was 2 months old on the 6th.  So they came over tonight and wanted strawberry pie with whipped cream. I really didn't feel like it since it hasn't been long enough for the antibiotics to help, but I did make the pie and whipped cream.

Now I am tuckered out. Imma bed.

    sweet dreams

  4. Good afternoon! I am coffeeing on the front porch with a nice breeze. It is very warm for October, 86 for the high, but I think it will cool down Wednesday or so.

We had a small birthday dinner today for oldest dd and her boyfriend. She was 19 on Monday, and he will be 20 on Tuesday. Grilled hotdogs, potato salad, baked beans and French vanilla cupcakes with buttercream frosting.

Yay for Prednisone, Lynn! When my children get poison ivy that is the only thing that will help.

This week shouldn't be as hectic as last week. Thankfully.

  5. Good morning!

    Can't get enough coffee!

Ants: 1/2 box of borax plus 1/2 cup of sugar. Mix in large baggie. Snip off  corner of baggie and sprinkle around the outside of your house. This is safe for animals and children. At least that is what I've heard; I haven't tested it. Borax: it is in the laundry section at the store. It is called 21 muleteam or something like that. It also works well in the washer to remove funky smells from laundry.  I do this at the first sign of ants, usually in the springs, and they are gone quickly.

    I hate autocorrect!

    more coffee!

  6. Good morning! Coffee!

I slept horribly. My throat tickled and I coughed all night. Coffee to the rescue.

Susan, I hope your in-laws are able to move soon and safely. I'm glad the grandson is there to check on them and help somewhat, but you are right, they need to be closer to some more family.

It is raining again this morning. I think it is supposed to quit soon. The high is 70 today.

We're not supposed to be home until 9.

This is the key to camping: the dad and children go camping; mom stays home. ALONE. It is magical. I quit camping 10 years (or more) ago. They go camping every year and seem to forget how miserable it is.

Hi Dawn!  We are trying so hard to get my in-laws to move to your state.

What part of my state? Southern? Are you trying to get rid of them? ?
