  1. Hello! I am wondering what everyone else has done after 100 easy lessons was done? My 5 year old is on lesson 70 and I am just trying to be ahead of the game and know what to expect next? I know that the book gives a list of books to read but I was wondering if anyone did the books as well as another more formal reading program? If so, where did you start in it?
  2. I am currently homeschooling my 5 year old son. We will be finishing up Singapore Essentials B very soon and I am stumped at what to do next. We will be continuing to homeschool till he starts 1st grade at a public school when he turns 7. I would love to have a math program that would prepare him for the public school's 1st grade math. There are so many different approaches to math and I am clueless as to what approach I should be taking? Is there anyone out there that can help me?
  3. Has anyone used this curriculum? I love how it is laid out and would love to try it with my Ker that loves read-alouds. It seems it will be a lot of going to the library for books which is fun!, but what about those weeks where we just want to stay home? Is there any supplement books and such that you made sure to have on hand at home to further the FIAR?
  4. This is awesome!! I love the introduction it has to the rods...I am def. gonna start this with him. I think he is going to have a lot of fun with this!
  5. Thank you!! I haven't looked at Saxon yet! I am gonna take a peek at it right now. It sounds like something I was looking for!
  6. HI! I am new to the world of homeschooling. My 4 year old is going to a preschool program at our church. He does not meet the cut-off date for starting kindergarten here which means he will have another year at home (turns 5 in october). I am very happy about this because I hate the idea of sending him to school anyways, but academically he is ready to start learning! We have been doing the 100 easy lessons book for reading, we have a bible time together. I was considering adding in Math and this is where I totally confused! There is so much out there! I was leaning towards Horizons Math K and then heard of Singapore. I have found that singapore EB seems really easy and Horizons math k is on the more advanced side? Also would like to incorporate manipulatives into the mix. I love workbook style because it gives me a clear focus of what we are getting done but would like to incorporate some manipulatives. I have heard good things about Miquon, would that be a good supplement to either horizons or singapore? and it says on the website that it is meant for a 1st grader, has anyone ever used it for a 4/5 year old? HELP! feeling very overwhelmed! I am hoping that this year goes well so that I can convince myself and husband that I can homeschool!
