Do I need both? Thanks!
-
Thank you all for your suggestions. And Crimson Wife, I'm not sure anyone goes along with all of one curriculum or way of teaching ;). I just piece together what works best for our family and pray the kids end up better for my efforts. I am new to homeschooling and need all the help I can get!

I have just started homeschooling an Advanced child in 6th grade-- she is almost 12. She loves logic activities. I also want her to have some formal study in this subject. Any curriculum recommendations? I do know what The Critical Thinking Company has to offer, but am not familiar with other companies. Thanks!

I read aloud many of the books mentioned here, one of kids favorites is the Fablehaven series. It is really fun-- magical creatures and such, female heroine (with a little brother as the number 2 character) and teaches about the importance of following the rules and choosing the right. Brandon Mull is the author. He has 3 series out right now.

Question about this curriculum... I am thinking about buying the Level 1 for my 4th grader. She was in public school until this year. She has struggled considerably in school due to ADD. She seems to be doing much better at home. I have read that MCT is great and you can go a level below for kids that are more average. Is this true? Do you recommend buying all level one books together for a full language program? And last do you need to buy both student and teacher manuals? I have Building Language and it seems redundant to buy both. Thank you so much for helping.

Do you need the student manual if you have the teacher's manual?

I have the teacher's manual and it appears that the student manual is very similar from the website. Do I need the student manual if I have the teacher's manual? Any experience?
