  1. My 5yr old son loves the Boxcar Children. He is also sensitive to intense scenarios but the adventures in these books suite him perfectly.
  2. Thanks so much! My confidence has been boosted :hurray: and I'm actually getting very excited for my son to finish out his pre-k year so we can have more time for math. He loves to learn and I think we are going to have a blast......at least sometimes. You people rock!!
  3. I have heard about people using Singapore Math and Miquon together and I'm wondering if anyone on here has done this long enough to see how well it's working. Both programs appeal to me and I think they would fit my boys well. My 5 yr old is quite a little smarty pants and has a particularly solid aptitude for math. We are "officially" starting kindergarten at home soon and I'm hoping this will be a good fit. I guess I'm looking for some encouragement from people who have used either or both programs. Thanks :seeya:
  4. I just got FIAR the other day and we are planning to start in January. I was also considering Song School Latin, so thank you so much for helping make that decision easier =)
  5. Thank you so much! Your info is extremely helpful. I had heard of Singapore but not Math Mammoth. I will check it out. Thanks again!
  6. My son is currently attending a Pre-K class and I had planned to start homeschooling him next fall when he would be starting kindergarten if he were attending public school. However, he is so eager to learn that we have been working through Phonics Pathways and Right Start Math over this last year. He already knows how to read quite well and also seems to pick up math easily. So far, he never seems to tire of learning new things and loves to work through workbooks. Anyway, I don't want to burn him out but I also don't want to slow him down. This is my first experience with homeschooling and although I am very excited be doing it, I'm also a bit nervous that I'm going to screw it up. Any advice on assessment tests he could take so I can hopefully start him on the correct level? Also, maybe suggestions on which curricula might be best suited for a speedy learner? Thanks for your help!
