  1. I ordered from MFW ECC Deluxe with the 7th/8th grade supplement (I want to read these myself), Ancient History and Literature and the Physical Science kit.

The drawing Kit from The Gluck Method. I've been looking at this for over a year. I really hope it's as good as it looks.

Apologia Zoology 2 and 3 (I have #1 out on loan) along with the journal notebooks for each one.

    Wordly Wise 3 and 8.

Science kits from Home Science Tools for each science.

I was able to find Saxon 8/7 with the Teacher cds used.

In April I'll order Meadow TT 3 and I'll be finished for the a long time.

  2. Thanks Elizabeth. I have it on the shelf along with the Quigly cd rom. It's all brand new. I purchased it to use with my middle daughter and never did. Meadow will be in third next year and I was wondering if I should try to put it to good use and put it on the for sale board! LOL

I'd love it if you could link me to your past post on how you used it!

  3. It does depend on your child and your needs. I used BJU for years and loved it. My oldest did the dvds through highschool. I can't afford them now. I use BJU until they reach 3rd/4th and then I switch them over to Teaching Textbooks because the instruction is provided for them and that makes life easier on me.

We are using the Saxon Teacher cds. My middle dd went from TT 7 to Saxon 7/6 and is almost complete and will move into 8/7 in April. She prefers the Saxon Teacher cds. I know this isn't much help. Just what we've done. Some people love Saxon some people hate it.

  4. I wanted so badly to be able to take this because I do need something and the price is unbeatable at $4 a month from Walmart.

I tried it again and I just can't do it. I feel like my esophagus is closing and I'm so dreadfully sick when taking this. I had the dry heaves all night long. I called my doctor today and she is suppose to be calling me in something else. I'm in waiting now. Thanks for sharing with me ladies!

  5. My daughter is expecting late June and we were wondering about disposables. (edited to say-crap! I meant cloth!)

I am looking at the Rump*a*rooz and they are $29.95 for 2 in the newborn size.

I'm wondering what you use and how many for each size do you need. Obviously you'd have to have way more than just 2. ;)

Initial cost seems really high to me even though it may save you in the long run.

  6. Oh my. I can't give a referral but I can tell you that I homeschooled my oldest daughter 6th-12th (and would have sooner had I known that I COULD do it) and she is just fine. She tested into Community College with flying colors, she took one semester through dual enrollment while still homeschooling and then went on to take her CNA (certified nursing assistant). She is married and expecting her first child in July. She is not taking classes this semester but plans to return in the fall. She is going for her RN. She is a beautiful, bright young woman. Homeschooling benefited her in every way.

That statement could NOT be further from the truth. It's an opinion. A stereotype. True it is not. Hang in there. Find a referral and don't give up.

  7. That is the branch I'm looking at.

I looked at the pass rate on the state board exam for LPN class at ECPI in Roanoke and it's not as high as I'd like to see. Last year some quarters only had 50% pass rate. I also looked at the pass rate for the last 5 years and it looks like the program had a 100% pass rate in the beginning. I wonder why it's dropped so low now? This bothers me a little since the program is way expensive. I'm thinking 28K for 14 months? I'd be driving an hour and 15 minutes one way. I'd be investing a lot to take the chance of not passing the state board exam. If there is anything you or your daughter could advise me on with the LPN program there I'd really appreciate it.
