  1. I can't help but wonder if your son is in stress. The statistics are in that older children, who have been potty successfully, and begin wetting the bed are under some kind of serious stress.

We had a similar experience and I just thought he was being lazy or a hard sleeper or physically challanged in this area...or just being a boy. Almost 13 yrs. later we found out our son was experiencing horrific stress...and we never saw it. He never said a word.

I don't want to sound doom and gloom...but now I know to take it much more seriously than I did then. I hope this is not the case for you, but felt I should say something.

  2. Absolutely-with no apologies. So glad I happened upon my daughters journal. Found some horrific details that we as parents needed to know. Raising children in a christian home kids learn how to fly below the radar. They learn what to say, how to say it and look religious all the while....been there done that when I was a teenager. I lived in a bubble thinking that: we are christians, we homeschool...that will not happen in our house! Well, thank God for the wake up call! We need to be the watchkeepers...not a buddy.

  3. This is a sched. I worked with for a long time. I had my kids help me and our house stayed so organized. The first week took the longest, but after that I followed this sched. weekly.

  4. We run a cleaning business and we love the Bissel canaster vacuumes that we buy at Walmart for between $60-80...sounds cheap, but we use them everyday all day long. They last, can take a beating, and even if they do break down after a couple of years we have gotten our money out them. We love the attachments, they are easy to clean and our favorite have extra long cords. I think you could try it and return it if you're not satisfied.

  5. We have used Memoria Press online courses for the last two years and love them. We used the Latina Christiana the first year and Henle Latin this year. Catherine is learning more with Henle Latin. We've also used the English, Logic, Political Science and History classes . For us it has been a good use of our money and the girls have really enjoyed the teachers and interaction with other kids. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me.

I am not sure about the technical part-but they are so helpful.

  6. We run a business and homeschool so the days fly by. For a while I had to go day by day and always felt like I was trying to play catch up, felt guilty for not doing more real schooling and not really know the lessons. For the past month or so, my husband has freed my sched. so i can spend 4-5 hours per week planning, reading ,photocopying, and getting books from the library. What a load of my mind! The best part is: I am enjoying homeschooling again!!!!! We are homeschooling 5 this yr., but I don't have to plan for the two oldest . They take care of themselves.

  7. Congradulations!!! My advice: ONE DAY AT A TIME...so much for originality! We have seven and once we made it past three it got easier and easier...matter of fact, #7 was the easiest of all. I had so many little and willing hands to help with things like fetching, holding, etc. I will admit to sleep depravation and therefore a lack of memories for a few years, but as long as I take it one day at a time I'm alright. I didn't have much help from family (they live in other states), But God supplied us with good friends. So, here we are safe and sound ...everyone is still alive!!!hahaha. We have two grown and out of the house and 5 more to go. I am still taking my own advice!

  8. I see submission as the earthly way we observe and live out submission to Christ...whether it is an employee/employer situation, teacher/student, parent/child, gov't/subjects...the list goes on. But the relationship between the husband and wife represents Christ and His bride most clearly...therefore, it seems extremely important to pay attention to and live out the mandates given to us.

Our country was founded on exactly the opposite foundation...no will rule over us. As we have carried that out to this day, it has come down to wives not obeying their husbands and children not obeying anyone! We have the right to do what we think is right-not what someone tells us.

  9. We have seven and they all want me to have another one! Having and raising the seventh was the easiest of them all! Imagine that??! I had so much more help and lots of willing and loving hands to help. Our youngest son has brought so much joy into our family that I am so glad we didn't quit at #6. We may not have much of the world's goods, but we are truely happy and crazy about each other. (And I do mean we are crazy sometimes!)

Don't be afraid. You are a rich woman!

  10. I must say that I agree with you. This is a beautifully deep area and the wisdom, protection, order and even the salvation of the family rests on it. I see it as preparation for Heaven. I will not be in authority WITH anyone...it will be complete submission. Better to learn it now and be fit for Heaven than to miss the mark due to wanting to do things my way and the way I see it to be right...I could very well be wrong and then where we will be. So, submission is the safest route.

  11. We are celebrating our 25th wedding anniv. this month...even tho' I had dreams of revisiting Hawaii for this grand occasion-it's not going to happen...

So, due to our economy, I am trying to come up with something very frugal, but very memorable and FUN.

Anyone have creative ideas you'd like to share?? Anyone "been there, done that"?

I am married to the best of men and want to show him how much I adore and appreciate his faithfulness and love.:001_wub:

  12. Please do not get me wrong...I am not advocating unbridled communication for men...I am just trying to show how I am now seeing that I have been too sensitive and have raised children who are too sensitive. In that, I have strained at the fly and swallowed a camel! Thanks be to our wonderful, merciful and patient God who is gracious to open my eyes to such sins...by the way, Cranberry, why do you use the name Cranberry? Do you have a Cranberry farm?
