  1. Love the Silk Road - treasure hunt and trading session activity. What a great group activity! Thanks for describing it.
  2. Used stencils from Hobby Lobby to trace the letters and some of the designs and then colored them using paints, color pencils or crayons to illuminate the letters like monks did in the middle ages.
  3. These were done on paper plates using magazine pages that were cut up into little pieces. The students create their own design and paste the pieces to complete the art project.
  4. Second Grade project create his/her own Coat of Arms Family Shield. They were to be large enough to mimic a shield suitable to protect a child.
  5. Thank you for the satorismiles link as well. I do have the AG. I'm posting a picture of three projects - Coat of Arms Family Shield, Illumination and Mosaic that we did when we studied SOW vol 2 - Middle Ages to that thread. If anyone has any pictures of history projects for any of the four volumes, that were completed, please post. Thanks again.
  6. Please share and describe any class projects that were done when studying the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Projects that were big or small would be welcome. I am especially interested in those projects that involved time spent in planning and then building or making something that could be presented in a formal setting to an audience at the end of the semester. I'm looking for a major Fall and Spring semester project that would represent this time period. Thanks for sharing your ideas!
