  1. How old would you recommend that the kids are in order to benefit from this program? We want to use it in a co-op situation with kids from 8-13. They've had a few light years of Spanish already. Maureen
  2. Thanks. I'll give it another try. Maureen:001_smile:
  3. Any suggestions for a biology course that lends itself to use in a once-a-week co-op? We do reading, etc. at home and lab activities in class.
  4. Hi, I got a response to my previous thread about Tell Me More Spanish that mentioned an Auralog discussion forum. I've been trying to find one and no matter what I google, I've been unsuccessful. Now when I go back to my original thread, both responses aren't there. I'm feeling like I'm in the Twilight Zone. Can anyone tell me why the responses disappeared? If not, I'll just take directions to the Auralog forum if you have it.:bigear: Maureen in NJ[/b][/b]
  5. I have to see the set up of the program, but I'd have the kids work on certain lessons all week at home and then from the material they've covered, do some clarifying and practice exercises/games in class. As good as all the programs are, there is no substitute for actually speaking a foreign language to another human. Even the occasional class meeting is useful for that. Also, it is a support for moms who don't speak/know the language at all. Thanks for your reply. Do you know, by any chance, how the 2009 program may differ from previous years? Our group has the opportunity to buy the 2008 version (I think) at a huge discount, but I don't know if it's missing important components or what. Any insight would be helpful. Maureen

  7. Hi, Has anyone used the Tell Me More series for Spanish? We're looking into it for use in a co-op situation. We're considering Rosetta Stone (love the program), but they have nothing at all to use in classroom settings. We'd have to create the group work from scratch. If you've used Tell Me More, even just at home, could you tell me what you think? Thanks, Maureen in NJ
  8. Thanks, Laura. Have you used them? If so, could you give a review? We've used Leanables for the last two years and the kids have learned tons of vocab and sentence structures, but have no understanding of what they are doing with the verbs, so they can't expand the knowledge. Also, the Learnables program has absolutely nothing developed to use in the classroom, not even larger versions of their pictures. I contacted the company and they weren't interested. We developed bingo games, large pictures and all kinds of activities, but it was way too much work. Does anyone have experience using this curriculum with a co-op and could you give an opinion? Thanks a lot, Maureen in NJ
  9. Hi Everyone, I'm new here and I've enjoyed reading the posts so far. I'm wondering if anyone has used the SYWTLS program in a co-op setting and if so, how did you use class time vs. work done at home? Also, what ages did you work with? How long does the Book 1 cover? Whole year, half year? Thanks, Maureen in NJ
