My ds wants to study chemistry next year, as a 3rd grader. I was leaning toward Apologia's new book, but I have mixed feelings about it. My son loves experiments, but hates writing, boring science books, worksheets, and "busywork". Do you have any suggestions for curriculum for him? Thanks!

I am looking for suggestions to use for creation science (particularly geology and astronomy) with a 2nd grader. I'm especially wondering if anyone has used the Creation Geology or Creation Astronomy by Felice Gerwitz (Media Angels). Thank you for any suggestions you have!

I hope to begin art next year with my son (beyond the fun "crafty" type projects we're doing this year). Would you recommend Artistic Pursuits, Drawing with Children, or something completely different? My level of artistic ability is pretty low - think stick figures. Thanks for the tips!

Can you tell me what didn't work for your son with FLL? I'd love to try with mine, but I hate to purchase it if it doesn't work (our library doesn't have it, unfortunately). Thanks!

I'm wondering what to use for my first grade son in the fall. Do we need both FLL and WEE, or would just FLL suffice? I don't want to overwhelm him, but I want to make sure he's getting both writing and grammar covered. Thanks!

I use FLL and WWE with my 2nd grade DS and we are really liking them. I like the gentle approach, especially to writing. My DS hates writing, so I haven't made him do any other writing except for the dictation and copywork in WWE. Is this enough writing at this age? Should I be having him do more writing? If I do, is there more I should be teaching him about organizing writing (he has no idea about topic sentences, writing sentences in paragraphs, etc.) and do you recommend a specific curriculum for this? Thanks!
