I use FLL and WWE with my 2nd grade DS and we are really liking them. I like the gentle approach, especially to writing. My DS hates writing, so I haven't made him do any other writing except for the dictation and copywork in WWE. Is this enough writing at this age? Should I be having him do more writing? If I do, is there more I should be teaching him about organizing writing (he has no idea about topic sentences, writing sentences in paragraphs, etc.) and do you recommend a specific curriculum for this? My ds wants to study chemistry next year, as a 3rd grader. I was leaning toward Apologia's new book, but I have mixed feelings about it. My son loves experiments, but hates writing, boring science books, worksheets, and "busywork". Do you have any suggestions for curriculum for him? Thanks!

I'm wondering what to use for my first grade son in the fall. Do we need both FLL and WEE, or would just FLL suffice? I don't want to overwhelm him, but I want to make sure he's getting both writing and grammar covered. Thanks!
