  1. I have used Singapore with my oldest two (6th, 8th) and youngers (I have 7.), and will continue to use it with the youngers. We have combined with MUS in the younger grades, but I am considering not even doing that. My plan for the youngers is to use a pre-algebra program in 7th. My older two did MUS pre-algebra after 6A and B. No problems here. Singapore math has really taught my students how to think mathematically, not just fill in the blanks.

  2. We do a MUS/Singapore combo for elementary. However, MUS Algebra was a bomb for us and we switched to TT after 8 weeks. The problem for us was that we understood the problem(s) he worked on the MUS video, but then struggled with the workbook. We were spending a LOT of time on math! It seemed that perhaps there were details not covered that would have been helpful. (Understand that this child is better in language skills than math skills.) We have not looked back. TT was much better for us. I will continue with my MUS/Singapore combo through Zeta or possibly Pre-Algebra, but after that we are going to use TT.
