  1. I have used Singapore with my oldest two (6th, 8th) and youngers (I have 7.), and will continue to use it with the youngers. We have combined with MUS in the younger grades, but I am considering not even doing that. My plan for the youngers is to use a pre-algebra program in 7th. My older two did MUS pre-algebra after 6A and B. No problems here. Singapore math has really taught my students how to think mathematically, not just fill in the blanks.
  2. We like classically cursive. No complaints. It works.
  3. We do a MUS/Singapore combo for elementary. However, MUS Algebra was a bomb for us and we switched to TT after 8 weeks. The problem for us was that we understood the problem(s) he worked on the MUS video, but then struggled with the workbook. We were spending a LOT of time on math! It seemed that perhaps there were details not covered that would have been helpful. (Understand that this child is better in language skills than math skills.) We have not looked back. TT was much better for us. I will continue with my MUS/Singapore combo through Zeta or possibly Pre-Algebra, but after that we are going to use TT.
  4. We use Flashmaster ($50). There are no bells and whistles, but it is to the point, easy to use, and effective. I am not doing flashcards with seven kids, so this gets the job done!
  5. I did like core 3 (except the Landmark book--we used Abeka 4). We also did pre-K and K. By core 4 there were books that I wouldn't choose; I wanted a young-earth perspective; I wanted the Bible more integrated. I would not have passed the twenty-some reasons not to use Sonlight, but I thought I could tweak it. We switched to MFW.
  6. I vote for MFW. It is my favorite K program. I am finishing it up for the second time, and I am still looking forward to teaching it again in two more years for the third time.
