  1. We have not started working on writing. He asked to read several months ago so I have been working through OPGTTR with him and he has caught on very quickly.
  2. Is it possible to use OPGTTR with these? My son is doing well with OPGTTR and is reading simple sentences so I'm not sure I want to stop using it. I want more Bible integrated throughout school right now and love the looks of the program. He doesn't really like OPGTTR so maybe using MFW phonics would be okay but he is reading already. Advice please?
  3. We figured it out in case anyone is curious "Epaminondas" is the book.
  4. That's not it :banghead: it's driving me crazy! He just remembers its about a grandmother giving a granddaughter things  He did say all the characters are African American.
  5. My son keeps talking about a book he heard a couple of months ago. He said the name sounds like pottamatupus or pittamotapus. I could be way off but he insists it's something like that. Any idea?
  6. Thanks :) I was just thinking that maybe I could also get a binder and use page protectors to store them in. I hate to use 66 page protectors but maybe I could combine some books so it's not so many.
  7. I cleaned out a small dresser yesterday and did not realize how many church bulletins with sermon notes I have. I've been studying my bible more and really looking for a way to organize Sunday bulletins that I take notes on for easy reference later. Any suggestions?
  8. If you had an empty room that you were turning into a "learning area" What kind of table and chairs set up would you have? I have an almost 5 yo, 2 yo and 2 month old. We have an open floor plan and our dining room has been empty for 2 years. There is no furniture in there. We do artwork, play dough, lot's of messy stuff at our kitchen table right now but it's really new and I don't want to mess it up right away. It's also too big for them and my 5 yo already complains about sitting on his knees to reach. I've been looking at an adjustable table and kid chairs. We will be homeschooling so it will be our work area as well. I know I would have to buy new chairs over the years as they grow. I just want to make a smart purchase. Advice?
  9. I'm looking for some guided reading/science/history things for Kindergarten. My plan is to use OPGTTR, Singapore Essentials and HWOT. We randomly pick books up at the library to read but I really would like to look at something that has that scheduled for you. My son is really interested in geography/science/history and I want to encourage that. I love the idea of unit studies but we live on a farm and spend a lot of time outdoors so I don't think I could spend the time planning. I'm not a very crafty person so I need guidance. Any advice is appreciated.
