  1. Thanks, you guys! I appreciate your advice. I'll have to take a look at all of your suggestions!
  2. Since my niece has similar academic strengths as I did at her age (she's 6), my sister has asked me to find a good foreign language program for her. The only problem is that I'm getting confused trying to decide which homeschool program is best suited for a 6 year old. Neither I nor my sister have a lot of money to buy a program, so it seems that Rosetta Stone is out of the question (plus I've heard mixed reviews on the lack of grammar instruction). Which program do you all think would be best? My sister and I haven't decided if we should teach her French or Spanish. I'm kind of leaning toward French soley based on the fact that I took some French classes while in third grade and 3 years of high school French and is what I'm most comfortable with (albeit, that was 12 years ago and because there was no one to practice with, I was by no means fluent!), but my sister is kind of leaning toward Spanish because English and Spanish is what's mostly spoken here in the U.S. (and will make it easier to practice with native speakers). If I could find a good program that wouldn't be too confusing for me to figure out, I would definitely go with Spanish.
  3. My son was just diagnosed with asberger's during his last year at public school. Does anyone have any advice or heads up about what to expect and how to deal with it in a homeschool setting?
  4. Has anyone ever used this curriculum? What are its strengths and weaknesses?
