  1. I noticed (in another thread) that some of you are using the TOG concept of cycling through world history, but didn't say that you actually use TOG. Is this a correct assumption? If so, what do you use if not the TOG curricula? Do you find the different books yourself of what?
  2. I think I am getting it now....... I think. LOL I still have a year to figure out what we are going to do so hopefully it will sink in and make perfect sense. Thanks Marie!
  3. I knew that if they needed to go through all the books at all levels we would be doing it forever. Yeah, I see how that different kids will come into the program at different "years" that just makes me more  about it. My concern is that certain things might not get covered or taught. Am I wrong in thinking like that?
  4. I looked at the samples and read through some of the threads on here about it. I have this one question: Tell me if I am not making any sense! The program states that each child cycles through the 4 years of books 3 times. Fine. Now, I made a table to see at which grade a child will go through each of the yearly programs. Year 1 will be covered in grade 1, grade 5, and grade 9 Year 2 will be covered in grades 2, 6, 10 Year 3 will be covered in grades 3, 7, 11 Year 4 will be covered in grades 4, 8, 12 Looking at it this way means that "year 1" will be covered by LG, UG (which often have overlapping assignments) and D; but R grades will never get to cover the year 1 program designed for Rhetoric grades. With the Dialectic, those grades will not cover "year 2". Basically what I am trying to say is that each year is broken down into 4 levels but each level is not neccesarily going to cover that "year". Am I making this to difficult? Will the kids miss something important that they will need to know in each level (LG, UG, D, R) in each year? Did I make any sense? That took forever to type out because I had a hard time figuring out how to phrase all that out. :tongue_smilie:
  5. Thank you! I spent half a day googling it and came up with nothing.
  6. Does anyone know a place where I can create or just download printable worksheets for Russian handwriting practice? TIA
  7. THANK YOU!!!!!!! These books are awesome! and the price is even better! We are religious and finding good Christian books in Russian is a challenge.
  8. Does anyone know where I would be able to get some Russian books? Looking to buy some to read to kids, but don't want to make the trip to Russia ;)
  9. Thank you Zaichiki for your reply. My oldest is 4.5 and we have been learning to read from Azbuka. She is doing well with that. I will take your advise and stay with Russian first and then add in English. I just wasn't sure what would be the best way and don't have anyone in real life to ask about it. Thanks for the welcome as well!
  10. Hello everyone, We are a Russian speaking household, but I will need to teach my kids English as well. These two languages are SO SO different. Anyone have any experience? We have started with learning how to read in Russian, would it be too confusing for DD to be jumping from one language to the next right now?
