  1. Thanks for the welcome! We live in Temecula, we've both spent a lot of time in the San Diego area, even though we're both actually from different areas (I'm originally from Boston). We love the Temecula area even though the beach seems so very far away sometimes. ;)
  2. Hello. :) I'm Aileen, mom to a 4 year old DD and a 1 year old DS. We'll be officially starting homeschooling this year, although DD has already taken an interest in reading, and just about finished our Headsprout program. I have great inspiration in my aunt who homeschooled both of her sons through graduation, and have a great, supportive (after a few years of discussion ;) ) husband who is in the Marine Corps. As of now, we are stationed in Memphis, but our home is in Southern California, and I can't wait to get back there. We're like Noah's ark here, with cats and a dog, and at some point I'm sure we'll gain more pets. Anything you want to know, just ask. I'm sure I'll be more frequent now that we're 'officially' starting. ;)
  3. I signed up for the dreambox trial, can anyone tell me how much it costs? I can't find a price on there anywhere.
  4. Question, does the math at ABCmouse.com get more challenging than the basic subscription (non-paid) lets me see? My DD wouldn't be challenged at all by what I've seen so far.
  5. Great ideas, all! Thank you! I will check them all out!
  6. Hi, I think this is my first or second post. I have a 4 year old who is super quick picking things up. She showed interest in learning to read, so we started Headsprout a few months ago, and she is about 2 episodes away from finishing. She loves it. She's been doing lots of counting and asking me about addition/subtraction lately, so I asked her if she wanted me to find something like Headsprout, but for math. She was excited at that idea, so I looked around and thought I found the answer in IXL. She hates it. I think it's just because it's basically a workbook. It's not 'fun' like Headsprout. I was hoping that someone here might have an idea for a fun math program. I don't mind a bit of a cost, but she loves 'playing' on the computer, so I was hoping for that. Any ideas? Thanks in advance. :)
