  1. Regarding what level SFC is equivalent to:

Just to confuse the situation some more...this is the email I got back from Classical Academic Press-

Thank you for your email. At this time, I'm afraid we do not have a specific recommendation of a following Spanish curriculum. There are certainly many to choose from. You could probably go on to a high school level Spanish and likely skip to a Spanish 2 level, especially if you use SFC Primer B. I am sorry that I don't have a concrete answer! Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  2. I will be teaching the last 10 chapters of Latin for Children A at our local coop. (I am learning as we go) The teacher had to move mid-year. The kids' ages are 9-11. Does anyone have any experience teaching this to a group? Do you have some learning games to keep them engaged? The website has some great activities, but I need something to help teach during the class.

    Thanks for any input.:001_smile:

  3. We tried Prima Latina last year with my 10 and 8 yo. IMO it was painful. My kids did not seem to mind it as much. We switched to Latin for Children this year and we all love it! They also have free game/vocabulary quizes online. We have not used them; the text and activity book seem to be enough for my kids. We do carry the vocabulary cards in the cards with us to practice on the go as well as use the chant cd in the car. I do not think you can go wrong introducing Latin-even if it is for a short while. It will only help later with other languages.

  4. Funny, I could have written the earlier post. My 10 yo, who also still believes in Santa, is doing SM5 with supplementation from Key to Series. SM seems to have worked for her, but we are part of the CC community and Challenge uses Saxon. I was afraid of the transition from Singapore to Saxon, so I have pondered seriously TT pre-Alegrebra for next year with supplemenatation from SM IP or SM Word Problems. Saxon seems incredibly boring to me so I do not know how I would get my 10 yo to sit still for it. What is AoPS? I too, feel like next year -6th grade is pivotal, due to the fact that it is the last step before she approaches much more in depth math. I am still deciding....
