  1. We've been sleeping apart for about 2 years. My dh's snoring became progressively louder and more frequent over the past 10-12 years. It was so bad that I finally started sleeping on the couch just so I could sleep for a few uninterrupted hours. I hate it .... but .... it's the only way I can sleep. His snoring is so loud that when he travels with other people, he has to have a hotel room ALL TO HIMSELF because he would keep the other guests awake! When he works at a summer camp every June, he has a CABIN all to himself, because his snoring is so loud. The girls' cabins can hear him snoring from 30 feet away!! Yep, the snoring is pretty bad, but a girl's gotta sleep.

  2. For dh, it was a DVD of Battleship and Cowboys & Aliens

For ds it was a pair of Adidas goalie gloves ($100+ my husband found at the Adidas outlet for $5-- Score!)

For dd it was her pair of fuzzy Ninja Turtles lounge pants (they are actually men's pants, complete with drawstring and "the button")

For me it was a new set of brightly colored measuring spoons and cups - really, really necessary this year! My other sets have disappeared into the big black hole of kitchen drawers.

  3. We never bought any Barbies, but when my dd was 10 or 11, some older neighbor girls gave our dd all of their left-over Barbies. For about a year we had pint-sized dresses, tiny shoes and doll accessories all over the place. Then the phase past, and she gave the Barbies away to someone else.

As an aside, when "I was her age," my mom would only let me play with Barbie's younger sister, Skipper. Skipper had less "curves."

  4. I'd tell her something like ..."It sounds like you have everything under control. You are in great hands with your church friends' support, and we're thankful you will be able to move back home sometime after the holidays. We love you...." and let it go at that.

I'm so, so sorry that this happened.

  5. I would be angry. Selling copies is an infringement of copyright laws. If she doesn't know where she got the copies or even if the copies were for herself, she should not be selling them. I would contact the moderators of the board and ask for a refund from the seller. To me, a clean copy means it is the product not written in or damaged in any way...not a "copy" of something.

    :iagree:

  6. My ds's relationship with his "soon-to-be fiancee" started off more as a "working" relationship than dating. He went over to her parents' house and helped them plant container gardens, canned, helped in the kitchen before a big party, changed her mom's flat tire, etc. I guess it demonstrated to her parents my ds's work ethic, and his ability to do the unexpected and still be happy "just being with her." Does that make sense?

  7. Last Sunday night I watched "Talking Dead," along with an interview with T-Dog and an executive producers of "Walking Dead."

One of the fan questions asked "What happened to Carol?" The producer gave the audience a smirky smile, and said something like "We don't really know if Carol's dead.... she could still be alive..."

It was sad to hear Lori's last words be ..."Goodbye, love." Talking to her son, or her soon-to-be-born child, or both.
