thanks! I'll look into online printing. :)

We are doing some e-book unit studies, Math 4 Today-which is a copyable workbook, and another printable e-book from dyslexiagames.com this fall. Before I break the bank trying just to print these books, does anyone have advise about the best way to go about it?
My own printer, go to Staples, etc etc?
TIA! :)
Oh, and I'm printing the same things double time since I have 2 girls completing the same things. :tongue_smilie:

Is it bad that this thread has me totally giggling? So sorry. I guess I just needed to laugh at this very moment. ;)
It is good to know this can happen-just for future reference.

We practiced this when I was a public school teacher, but there was a secret code said over the loud speaker. Something like "the principal has lost her keys..." I can't imagine the students having to hear "intruder, intruder."

I'd so badly like to go but can't find anyone to go along with me from west Tx. It's quite a long drive to go it alone.
Sounds like it will be amazing though-are any of you going? If so what are you looking forward to? :)

We bought Pianimals at the start of last school year. My girls completed the first book this year-not with rigorous practice either. They are 7 and 8 and really enjoyed it! Looking forward to book 2 this next year. As for my background, I took some lessons when I was young, but not much. I would say it's a good program for someone who has just basic knowledge of music. :)

that's very kind of you. I'd love free credits. :)

Note to self- purchase Wii cooking game!
ditto! :001_smile:

I so needed that reminder tonight. Thanks for posting. :)

I would highly recommend a chiropractor, but first find a friend with recommendations to a good one in your area. :)

Does anyone know what the exact name of the special? I am trying to search for it on my cable so I can set it to record when they show a rerun.
I'm pretty sure it's called "First Grandson." :)

ummm, I bet I'd have a TON of boxes of books too. Let's hope I don't have to move any time soon. Plus I only have 2 kids. You have a few more, so I'd say you should have lots of books. :001_smile:

We are working on Little Keepers from http://www.keepersofthefaith.com
My girls are 7 and 8-even though it says the first book is for up to 7 years old, we're still working on accomplishing the skills they have listed for that younger age group. :001_smile:

We had shoddy, flat bi-fold doors and we covered them in white board. Awesome for a large writing surface!
I love this idea. :) Did you use a paint or was it more like something you apply like contact paper?

thanks for the info and link. I've wanted to teach my girls about others with special needs and I'm sure we will appreciate this resource. :)

It may be young for your kids, but we are thoroughly enjoying the Boxcar Children series. I just ordered a huge lot of them off of Ebay and even I can't wait to read more of them. We've made it through 3 so far. :)

So, we've covered 2 days each day we've done work. Right now it's really just the review of single letters and their sounds and my girls are picking up on the flashcards fast-even when there are 3 sounds-I'm glad of that. I need them to help me remember.
Maybe tomorrow we can get a PR1 thread going. :)

hey ladies!
We just received our PR1 in the mail and I think I'm going to jump right in tomorrow. I'll be going through it this year with my 2 girls who are in 1st and 2nd grade.
I've watched most of the first video and I kind of see where I should be going, but at the same time I feel like I'm jumping into an ocean of information.
Wish me luck or better yet say some prayers for us!
:) Christine

It sounds like a homeschoolin' momma's dream. :)
I was just thinking about taking my girls into our newly cleaned up school room to do something (not sure what yet) when daddy goes out to play basketball tonight. Now I'm wondering who's crazy/weird?

Chris, can you link to the original post on the curriculum board? I searched for rain gutter loft and didn't see it. Thanks.
I googled "nestof3 gutter" and I think I may have found it...

I love this idea! :)

She doesn't seem like a very nice/considerate person. :( Some people feed off of or feel better by putting others down-these people do not make good friends-at least in my book they don't.
If it were me, after blowing up and setting boundaries I'd give her one more chance. If that doesn't work, it sounds like it's time to find some new friends. :grouphug:

No churches charge around here.
My girls have attended 5 different VBS programs already this summer.
Only one had t-shirts and those were given to them for free.
BTW we live in a pretty small town (12,000 population). I have noticed the start of fees in larger towns-but that could just be my observation. :)
 VBS.

I wouldn't because Facebook's own rules say 13 is the minimum age.
:iagree:
I also won't be "friends" with anyone under 13 for this very same reason.

Ahhh. this thread has been a breath of fresh air to me-and quite encouraging as well!
I x-ed Z&C and Hannah Montana about 6 months to a year ago and have friends who think I'm nuts for doing so. Oh well, it has saved my girls from a lot of garbage going in, which means less garbage out of their mouths and attitudes. :)
We were down to watching Phineas & Ferb, some PBS and a few Nick Jr. Shows. Then I started to pick up on the junk in Phineas and Ferb too. :( Sad because we like to watch that with our girls. My husband is still not 100% with me on not letting the girls watch P&F but he's coming around and records it to watch later, which I really appreciate.
Confessional Time: Who has had (school) tears already?

I am SO thankful for this thread tonight. We started with tears first thing this morning and it was a long day for me, and for them too. Partially I know it was my fault for not being up before the kids (had a very late night of planning last night) but me oh my, when I asked them to copy 2 rows of a poem you would have thought I asked them to copy pages and pages. :001_huh:
Hoping for a better day tomorrow.
I used to be a ps teacher too and wish I could get half of the work out of my kids that I could out of other people's kids-with out all the emotions would be great too. I was just thinking (again) today how different it is to homeschool vs. the ps classroom. So. very. different.
