Thanks Maura. This is one of the text that I'm considering. It's good to know that a bright but non science loving kid can score well.
Did your son use the supplement workbooks and can you share what you used for labs?

I'm in the process of planning our biology class for next year and have a question.
How likely is it that a student can score well on SATII Biology after using a HIGHSCHOOL text?
Yes, I know the exam is suppose to test highschool knowledge but I've read that a lot of kids who score well have usually had an AP class/text.
So, has anyone done well with just the highschool text and if so, which one did you use?
Any advice that you can give will be appreciated.

:grouphug: I feel so bad for you and your son. I'm sorry you're going through this but I do believe you're asking too much.
Maybe it would help to look at it from the prospective of the other moms. As moms, we naturally protect our children and I believe the other moms are just protecting theirs. Imagine if a child in your homeschool group forgets that he should not eat x,y,z and goes to the play group, interacts with your son and your son has a fatal reaction. Now, imagine that child trying to live with the knowledge that his "thoughtlessness" caused the death of a friend.
That is too great a burden for any child to carry. I cannot allow my child to be placed in the position of carrying that burden. :grouphug:

Never in a million years would I have guessed such an outcome. I nearly killed myself laughing when I read the part about getting the carseats!
This lady is not playing with a full deck. Watch your kids like a hawk!

Yikes! This is so sad. If this is the sort of thing that causes her to lose respect for her future husband, life is going to be difficult for both of them.

My ds birthday is December 25th. Yep, Christmas Day. To ensure that he feels special and gets the attention, we celebrate his bd one week before Christmas. He recently told me that it makes him so sad when people would remember it's his birthday and say " oh yeah, happy birthday X, late in the afternoon"

Hi All,
I'm more of a lurker than a poster. This is my 5th year homeschooling my three kids. I have a 16dd (11th grade), a 13ds (9th grade) and a 9dd (4th grade). It has been an exciting, exhilarating, frustrating, humbling experience thus far:001_smile:. I look forward to the rest of the journey.

Some of the darker bronze "rubs off" over time, on things like door and faucet handles, though maybe that depends on the quality?
I have both in my home and the brush nickel still looks great; not so the venetian bronze.

:lol:My dc were watching Sesame Street when they were little. I believe Elmo was singing something about "It's alright to cry." I turned the tv off and told my dc that it was NOT alright to cry. They are allowed to cry when they are bleeding or seriously hurt. So sorry, Elmo. I don't have time for 4 kids to be bawling every time they feel slighted.
Man up. Girls too.
I am not military, but I am not a normal mom either.

SAT II Biology

Thanks to all. I really appreciate the advice.
So far, I think I'm going with Miller and Levine supplemented with Campbell's Concepts and Connections and SAT prep books (Barrons and Princeton). The study guide for Miller and Levine looks good also.
Thanks for the lab links Maura.
