  1. I have a 5th grader and 7th grader? What are people's opinions on starting to teach Latin in the fall to both of them? Is it a good base before doing Spanish in Highschool or is it not worth the effort? If you suggest doing Latin, do you have a good curriculum to recommend? Thanks!!

  3. My dd (4th and 6th grade) need some catch up in their grammar. Does anyone have a easy to use but solid grammar program that would work to use for over the summer? I just want to do short lessons every day to catch up and then we can have more of a solid foundation in the fall. Thanks in advance for any advice! Abby
  4. Has anyone on here used the writing/grammar curriculum from Bob Jones University for 4th-7th grade kids? Thanks Abby
  5. Thanks so much for the great advice! I really appreciate it!
  6. Looking for any good suggestions on creative writing curriculums for my daughters this coming year. One is going into 7th and one into 5th. Second year of homeschooling and wasn't happy with Sonlight's this past year. My 5th grader really needs help on composition in general and sentence structure. My 7th grader loves creative writing and needs more assignments along that line. Thanks for any advice! Abby

  8. Does anyone out there have a good resource online (preference) or in book format to teach 4-6th graders fundamentals of writing? I was not an English major so am looking for recommendations for interesting and simple ways to instruct my two girls how to construct papers, stories in a good manner. Thanks for any advice! Abby

  10. Does anyone use Teaching Textbooks for math? I am new to homeschooling this fall and am planning on using TT with my 6th grader and 4th grader. My question is I had my soon to be 6th grader take the TT6 and TT7 placement test online. She scored the same on each test so I am thinking of ordering TT7 for her. Does anyone who has used this curriculum have any advice? And if anyone is selling their used curriuculum, I would be interested. :001_smile: thanks Abby
  11. HI. I am new to homeschooling this fall and am planning on using Teaching Textbooks as my math curriculum. My daughter will be coming out of public school and entering 6th grade. I have had her take the placement test for both TT6 and TT7 online. She scored basically the same on both so I am tempted to order TT7 for her mostly because i don't want her to be bored. Does anyone have experience using these programs and have any recommendations for me in this regard? I have heard elsewhere that TT is not super advanced so some choose to put their children a year ahead. Thanks so much Abby PS: If anyone wants to sell their used TT7, I would buy it! :001_smile:
