My state requires a half-credit of government *and* a half-credit of economics; they're separate. I would think that free enterprise would fall under the category of economics. For government, I'm having dd use a guide and workbook called Understanding the Constitution. Haven't decided what to use for econ yet.
Thanks so much for replying. That helps me alot.

My son needs to take an American Government class, would this be considered Economics/Free Enterprise/Civics? I am confused as to what would work for the credit and what do you all use for this. Any advice would be well appreciated.
Thanks so much

We are getting ready to begin our school year....my daughter wants to do Apologia Zoology 2 Swimming Creatures. She is very much a hands on type child. We used ACE last year and she totally was turned off by it. It was all read then answer questions and so on. She was very bored. So my question is....if we are doing the Zoology 2, what is the best place to buy the lab kits from? This is my first year with Apologia, but I have heard very good things about it, so we want to give it a try. Thanks in advance to anyone that can help me out.

I would like to hear what others have to say about this too. I am switching math's this year and was wondering if it's worth printing the books or ordering an already printed book.

Theres a mutiplication rock CD that really works well.

I went from paying like $500 for both kids to much less because I didn't just stick to one curriculum. I found it was better to find something that fits the kids for each subject and it was less expensive too.:D

Fifth grade is a great place to start the Well Trained Mind rotation! But before I explain what I mean, I should ask if you are looking for a plan for the next few years to prepare your child for High School or if you are looking specifically for 5th grade recommendations.
To be honest, I wasn't even thinking about preparing for high school. I think I was just worried about making sure she's getting everything she needs without being bored. But preparing her for high school would really be great. Any advice would help me. I am also worried about science too.
Thanks so much..

I have looked at this website and really like it. Has anyone used this site before? I have a question about the math section, there is several as in Math 1, Math 2, Math 3. There is also mathe called Liberal Arts Math. Can anyone tell me what ages these are for? I understand the pre-algebra section and algebra. There is also something called algebra 1a and algebra 1b. Would you think it was for someone to break algebra into 2 years? Also would the Liberal Arts Math be a complete review for all of the maths? I know these are lots of questions, but I was looking for a complete review for my son that will be in 12th grade this coming year. He is not going to college and really does not need another math but I want to make sure he knows everything he should know by giving him a year of total review. Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Can someone tell me the difference between civics and free enterprise? My son needs a half credit of each next year . I found some American Government books. In your opinion would that cover both of these subjects? Thanks to all,

I am looking for a language arts for my son next year. He needs to review his grammar and I was thinking of Easy Grammar Plus. Do you think that would be a good way to go with him. He is not strong in that area and I want him to do a good review and enhance his grammar. Any ideas?
Thanks

Has anyone used Climbing to Good English series? I am interested in using it for my 5th grader next year, any reviews or comparisons to what everyone uses would really help. Also, I am looking for an English program to use for my 12 grade son next year. I am mainly looking for a review with his grammar and things like that. I was thinking about Easy Grammar Plus, or Easy Grammar Ultimate Series. Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

She is doing the fourth grade books and some of the things are new and she learns them but theres so much review. I am not understanding the spiral approach and mastery. I was told the spiral goes over new topics and in each book it adds to it as well as reviews everything else. Well thats what happens in ACE and Lifepacs. I was also told in a mastery program you learn a concept and practice it till you understand. Am I wrong about this? Some of these really confuse me. Please help me understand better,

Hi there.....I am really in need of some advice. Can yall please tell me what should I do for my son's girlfriend. She has started homeschooling with us. My son graduated last year and my daughter is only in 6th grade. This young lady is extremely smart but comes from a rough home and had to pull from school because of health issues (juvenile diabetes) she has missed so much school. I really need an Algebra 2 that will help her and I. My son did Algebra but we didn't do Algebra 2. I pretty much had to reteach myself Algebra because I was out of school for a while and forgotten most of it. But now Algebra 2 wow. So as I said does anyone know of any thing that would help us in any way. Thanks so much.....
Karen:)
