I saw the schedule today, and, apparently, there is time allotted for him to "meet with catechumens and inquirers."
Does anyone know what to expect from such a meeting?
:)

I received an email on Monday for the online update. Their number is 919-733-4276.

How did that ^^^^ happen to our posts? :)

Congratulations!!! :)

Praying for a smooth transition! The schedule change would throw me for a loop!
It's a big concern for both of us!! I never usually turn out the light before midnight and lately it's been 1 or even 2. Now I'll have to be in bed by 9, yikes!

Have any of us brought this idea up as a possibility? It suddenly occurred to me that your priest may be honoring your husband as the head of your marriage. It could make sense, in that context, for him [the priest] to want to speak directly with your husband, to hear from him that it is ok for you to draw closer to, and eventually enter into, the Church. To form his own sense that your marriage is not going to suffer as a result. This is a signal to your husband that he deeply matters in the big picture, that he is important. That he is essential to your life. That he is not "an enemy".
That is how I tried to explain it my dear husband, and he understands, but, making it happen is another story.

(Sorry, I goofed again.)
My priest said the same thing...

the Church certainly is not going to give some absurd pronouncement that all those kids were illegitimate

I am in the same boat.
It is so difficult to move forward without my dear husband, yet, I do not want to wait around for eternity. :)
He, also, must meet with the priest before I can proceed alone, and was not too excited to hear that. He is very supportive, though, which is why he was shocked to hear of such a request.
I am still waiting for the best opportunity to proceed, and I do not want to be pushy, either.
Sigh.

We were told in our class for inquirers, that those of us coming from "mainstream" Christianity, who were previously baptized or christened "in the name of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit," would *not* be re-baptized. (This is in an OCA mission parish.)

Has anyone met Archbishop Nikon? He is visiting for two days, concluding with a blessing of the new church property. :)
