Someone here recommended White Lotus when we were looking last year.
We now have 2 organic cotton and wool mattresses from them, and love them! DS had been sleeping on a brand new sealy, and his asthma was out of control. Buying organic, without the chemical flame retardant (ours uses wool instead) was one of our many steps in controlling his asthma. Funny thing is DH no longer snores as much (!), and doesn't wake with a runny nose. :)
They always have specials and sales, and our shipping was free.
It's kind of cool to have a handmade mattress. :)
We've been looking at these mattresses, but I'm concerned that you can't return them. Which model did you get and how did you decide? Love to hear more about your decision process and what else you considered.

With kids the first line of defence is to do surgery. With anyone it is not 100% I have dont study with kids that their apnea was "cured" after and some that it became less.
If they have apnea now they typically dont really out grow it as some believe. If you lose the T&A you are less likely to get apnea later in life depending if on why the airway is closing.
Get the surgery if they have apnea or other health problems. Please please do a follow up in 6mos to a year and see what is going on some kids are fixed some still have a small air way and will still need CPAP. Make sure there is no deviated septum and the airway is large enough (some are born with a small air way) also talk with the dentist about how far back the jaw falls in to the airway when laying back relaxed (that blocks lots of air ways)
This is good advice.

Actually, this is helpful. So an ENT can tell by looking if the tonsils/adenoids are a factor or not? I'm just hoping it's not a routine thing with this diagnosis.
I have apnea, so does my mother, my sister, aunt....my son takes after this side of the family. So I'm guessing his issues is more facial/jaw structure than tonsils. I feel reassured to think an ENT can tell whether surgery might help or not.
To reassure--the sleep studies are pretty easy. The worst part is that people typically don't sleep well in the environment (wires everywhere, not your bed, etc.) and then they weak you up and boot you out in the very early morning! So it's not a restful night.
My son's tonsils and adenoids were not significantly large, and if the sleep study hadn't reported OSA they probably wouldn't have been removed. However, when the ENT went in for surgery, she found that they were both much larger than expected. She explained it like belly buttons, some have an innie and some have an outie.

My youngest son had his adenoids and tonsils out almost a year ago. While it's greatly improved his sleep apnea, we're fairly certain that it hasn't fully remediated the problem. We watch carefully and will likely go back for another sleep study.

If she says that it's painful to urinate that would be the first sign of a UTI. If you've also seen blood I'd head to the doctor today. They are very uncomfortable.

If you do decide to go with a helmet, please be very careful of the other hazards that could create. I specifically remember that kids should not wear helmets at the playground because it's a hanging hazard. A chin strap could easily get caught on a railing, toilet paper dispenser or cabinet handle and choke your little one.

Aloha, Tigard, and Lake Oswego are all nice suburbs of Portland. All I really know is that Lake Oswego is VERY expensive. I think Aloha less so, but it's a nice area.

Yes there are many ways around parental control SOFTWARES. This is actually a part of windows operating system, so the only way I think a kid could get around it (besides hacking your password, which if you use an easy one they could do) would be to force the computer to boot from the CD and use a start up CD to boot off that OR force a windows error shut down and make it reboot in "safety mode". Just turning it off and back on will not void the windows settings.
And if anyones 13yo is doing that, then I suggest you either get them some training and harness those skills for "good" or remove all computers from reach (I knew one parent who took all the power cords from desktops and laptops and stored them under lock and key, it is really hard to hack a computer with no electricity LOL).
And yes, yes I did run with the geek crowd in HS...
He definitely knows how to boot up the computer and get around areas that he shouldn't. Something about root files and all kinds of stuff that I understood when I was 20, but 15 years later mean nothing to me. Typically the skills aren't being used for negative behavior. Hopefully one day they'll actually be put to good use.
The " i devices" as we refer to them cause far more problems then the computer does in our house. Internet gets shut off every night when behavior can't be counted upon.
Sorry to hijack the thread. I actually don't know anything that will do what the OP is looking for.

For the PC, what version of windows is it?
I use microsoft family controls on Win 7 and each child has their own account. They can only get on on the times I allow and on the websites I allow. familysafety.live.com is the website. There is no way a kid could get around it unless they had your password.
I actually have two accounts for each kid: 1 for free time and 1 for school assignments.
There are actually lots of ways to get around the parental controls, but you'd have to ask my 13 yo. I don't have the foggiest idea how to do any of it. There's very few choices that can't be gotten around for a computer savvy child.

We really liked IEW PAL. The farm and stickers were a big hit.

What about putting in a double sink base and all of the plumbing, but not cutting out the second hole? That way you would both be getting what you want. You could even buy the second sink and matching faucet to have for future use.
I remember using our extra long counter for a changing area as well. I think I'd rather share a sink if I still had babies around.

I know about this. I'll ping the gal who started the FB exchange and have her take a look at this thread.
Thank you, Patty!

I don't have a Facebook account! Perhaps it is Homeschool Potpourri? It looks like they have a Facebook page now. http://hspbooks.com/
Thanks Jean.
I do actually take books there sometimes, but they only offer a good return if you use it for trade and I want to try and get some cash out of this curriculum.
If memory serves this was a page where you could sell yourself, similar to the boards here, but local.

Just bumping up. I was hoping that maybe Jean would know the answer. If I recall correctly it was Milovany who posted originally about it.

I thought I remembered a Facebook page for used curriculum. Could someone point me in the right direction?
TIA

Do you only have the problem with Apple products? I would think you might need to have an eye exam, especially if you have the same problem with other screens.

... if i always respond to my emails right away? It's so easy to do, but I don't want them to think I'm stalking my email waiting for them.

We really enjoyed the food at Raglan Road when we were there in December. Our waiter was great too.

We had one for our 2000 Sienna. It worked just fine with standard crossbars. You shouldn't need to order anything extra.

Good luck on your hunt. I hope someone has one.
I never did quite understand why they were so collectible in the first place.

The amazon picture that you linked to is $15.95 with free shipping over $25 or free with prime. It says there's one left.
I don't actually have any beanie babies, I was just curious.

On the High School forum LoriD has a pinned thread about this, you might find the info useful - http://forums.welltrainedmind.com/topic/418045-outsourcing-online-classes-tutors-dual-enrollment-ap-sat-ii-clep-links-to-past-thread-here/
Thank You! I'm sure this will be a great resource.
Is it possible to get a "good" dog food that is also "affordable"?

I don't have a specific recommendation in that price range, but I just used wag.com and was very happy. They often have sales and coupons with free shipping and they list food with total price and $/lb. There is also a dog food rating site that you could google.
